Post Hackgate and post Leveson, it's now public knowledge the depths to which The Sun and News Of The World would sink to "dig up dirt" on public figures.
I put "dig up dirt" in inverted commas, because this often involved just outing gay men, by using all kinds of subterfuge, spying and blackmail.
So why did they remain silent about this sleazeball?
And why the press hysteria now when it's too late to do anything?
