Next time you hear a gay man say; "I'm not a gay artist/musician/writer, I'm an artist/writer/musician who just happens to be gay."
Say; "So you're a human who just happens to be a man who just happens to be gay who just happens to be a writer/artist/musician."
"And seeing as these things are apparently irrelevant, what shall we talk about?"
Then ask if they could stop doing stuff about "just" being gay.
