    I'd vaguely heard of it after watching something about (I think) Soviet Bloc comedy many moons again - why is that me, please?

    A novel by the brilliant Jaroslav Hasek based roughly on his own life.
    Why you? A non conformist, questioning authority who comes over as a jape but is actually quite smart.
