BBC Radio 1: Good Mornings

Great to hear that Chris Moyles is quitting the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and, greater still, to hear Nick Grimshaw is taking over.
Who better to replace that homophobic boorish bore than this enchanting and excitable probable gayer.
Though is there much other evidence for this probable?
Apart from his presenting style, obvs.
Asking for a friend.

  1. He dates women if you believe the old quotes they're using from that 2008 profile (which were quotes of 'tabloid claims'). No girlfriend since uni, apparently. uh huh.
Tell your friend I fancy him too, which is why I googled...

    1. "He doesn’t have a girlfriend - and reckons he hasn’t had one since uni - but likes to surround himself by beautiful women"

Classic quote from today's Mirror there!

    2. Like off of the 1950s!
However, Update: The actual physical copy of the Sun uses the 'g' word. Not so closeted, then.

    4. Refers to him as "The gay star..." midway through. He hasn't actually said for himself if he swings both ways or just er one, but fair enough to say he isn't straight

    5. Blimey!
Haven't seen it - and it also doesn't appear to be on the online version - but today's Metro said he's dated Peaches, Pixie and Sadie Frost!

    6. Yeah, the Sun must know enough to give them that impression, and to just slip it in casually too. Eh who knows re the Geldofs, but apparently they're all friends? General consensus (twitter search) seems to be 'not straight'

    7. Have to say hearing he's friends with the Geldofs does rather put me off the chap a little...

  3. I think they're mostly harmless. I like the younger one better for some reason.

naah, you're so wrong about moyles.

i began listening after the controversy, with my pitchfork and burning torch readied…resulting in me abandoning radio 4's Today…been listening years now -- from 6'30 'till 10, (so i know my shit) -- and i can categorically state the show is extremely gay-affirming in an unforced not at all "bbc diversity unit" tokenistic humourless way either. i'll miss the constant "normalized" travails of producer aled and his boyfriend; moyles and his flirting with aled, and with his close friend andy peters……i've witnessed no evidence for his homophobia. but believe what you want.

that said i couldn't wish for a better replacement than grimy, whether his sexuality is gay, post-gay(whatever that means) or just hipster.
