Vicious gangster twins Ronnie and Reggie Kray had an incestuous sexual relationship with each other as they were growing up.
The pair, who ran a cruel and violent criminal empire in London's East End in the 1960s, were terrified of their secret coming out.
They were worried that rivals would see their sexuality – Ronnie was a homosexual and Reggie was bisexual - as a sign of weakness so only had sex with each other in order to keep the secret.
Author John Pearson who extensively interviewed the brothers and their associates has made the revelation as a new film comes out on the twins.
John said: “Homosexuality was nothing to be proud of in the East End.
“But as they became more notorious, Ronnie became quite shameless about it.
“According to Ron in the early days they had sex with each other because they were terrified about people finding out.” ...

Beaulieu motoring collector Lord Montagu dies - BBC News.

Hilariously BBC News don't mention how most people will know his name. [It was updated after about half-an-hour - most odd, or did I dream it?].

Guy Burgess: The Spy Who Was Slut-Shamed
Guy Burgess (all three pictures) became an agent for the Soviet Union after leaving Cambridge University in 1935. It was well known that he exploited the blackout in wartime London to pounce on and pick up young servicemen for his own pleasure and locked in the drawer of his desk was evidence of his twin vices: a bottle of gin and a book on flagellation. The dangerous flaws in his character were obvious to all, yet his job in the news department, briefing the Press, meant he was privy to almost all material produced by the Foreign Office, including top secret telegraphic communications, along with the keys for decrypting them.

Harvey Proctor: Nick 'Nick'
Those of us who have been criticising the ever more lurid accusations of child abuse against a cavalcade of politicians (mostly Tory and usually dead) have become used to being described as “defenders of paedophiles” on the wilder fringes of the internet, where the idea of sex with children exerts a peculiar fascination.
So I wonder what this thriving branch of the conspiracy-theory business will make of the article in today’s edition of The Sunday Times by Mark Williams-Thomas [Savile was a fair cop, this is a witcvh hunt], which denounces the way some people have “determined to be at the forefront of trying to set out that a significant number of well-organised paedophile rings existed involving politicians past and present” and lamenting that “these individuals are not evidence-focused, preferring to pass off rumour as fact”.
For Williams-Thomas is the man whose 2012 ITV film The Other Side of Jimmy Savile was the spur to belated criminal investigations of the sexual activities of the late BBC presenter; and in his earlier career as a police officer he was involved in a number of successful cases against men who had abused children for sexual gratification...
A former rent boy, known to us only as “Nick”, [has] claimed Proctor was one of a number of Tory bigwigs, army generals, spy chiefs (the entire so-called Establishment, in effect) who had “raped and tortured” him and other children as far back as 1975.
Proctor took the extraordinary step of reading out the police disclosure document. It contains the claim that, in the presence of “Nick”, he had murdered one child by strangulation, having stabbed him with a penknife “over a period of 40 minutes”. It also alleges Proctor was prevented from taking his penknife to “Nick’s” genitals only by the intervention of “the other male present”. This, according to “Nick”, was Ted Heath...
The law as it stands grants anonymity to those who make charges of sexual abuse, and there are good reasons for this. But here’s the thing: who is being abused now? Due process is the victim. And that puts all of us at risk.
Dominic Lawson, The Sunday Times.
There was also a good piece on this orgy of cruelty and stupidity in the Telegraph this week, Harvey Proctor's accusers are making sure he will never get a fair trial.
And in the Independent, Harvey Proctor and a worrying case of trial by lynch mob.
And LBC interview with Iain Dale.

Life is good at the moment. I used to be very moody and, to be blunt, I think it was the result of a lack of success and control in my life. But now, by and large, I have been successful, and to a great extent I am in control, so I have become much more equable... far less bad tempered and edgy. My temper now is very much a performance.

James Bond: Ho Mo 7
Former James Bond and Professional Heterosexual Pierce Brosnan certainly thinks it’s time, but he admits that there was always resistance about the idea of a gay Bond. In a recent interview, he said: “"Actually, I don't know how it would work. I don't think Barbara [Broccoli, the James Bond producer] would allow a gay Bond to happen in her lifetime. But it would certainly make for
interesting viewing.”
He's largely talking out of his tail-pipe; of course Bond could be gay. He could be blond, vegetarian, he could back Jeremy Corbyn if he really wanted. None of those qualities directly tie into what the films are about - a secret agent fighting a group of slightly racist stereotypes in the name of protecting our beautiful little country.
Bond being gay is fine, in theory. But beneath the surface, there's a clearer subtext to Brosnan's words. It's not that he couldn't be gay, but that many believe he shouldn't. The Great British public, the thinking goes, would reject a gay Bond, and in doing so would destroy a dearly beloved institution and a pillar of masculinity in one fell swoop.
"Who would choose to go and see a gay Bond?" is just a fiddlier version of the argument "who would want to be gay?" The logic is that 'straight' is 'normal' and therefore 'best'. It's the default, it's not offensive. So making Bond gay would be a gamble; throwing away something we know straight audiences love and trying something they might be hostile towards...

Tyler The Creator: Ban Everything!
The Home Office has responded to Tyler, The Creator's claims that he is banned from entering the UK until at least 2018.
The rapper pulled a series of UK dates earlier this week, including an appearance at this weekend's Reading & Leeds Festival. Explaining his reason for the change in plans, he went on to say that he has been told he cannot come back to Britain for a period of 3-5 years.
A spokesperson for the Home Office refused to address the specific case but issued the following statement, in which the reasons a person can be banned from entering the UK are explained.
"Coming to the UK is a privilege, and we expect those who come here to respect our shared values.
"The Home Secretary has the power to exclude an individual if she considers that his or her presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good or if their exclusion is justified on public policy grounds."

Tyler's manager Christian Clancy posted a more detailed explanation behind the ban in a lengthy Tumblr essay that saw him express his dismay at the Home Office's decision.
"Tyler has been banned from entering the UK for somewhere between 3 to 5 years per a letter from the secretary of state for the home department of the united kingdom," Clancy wrote.
"The letter specifically cites lyrics he wrote 6-7 years ago for his albums bastard and goblin – the type of lyrics he hasn’t written since… highlights from the letter include that his work 'encourages violence and intolerance of homosexuality' and 'fosters hatred with views thats seek to provoke others to terrorist acts..' ...

Ellen Page: Not #SoBrave
When people are [called] brave in regards to playing LGBTQ people, that’s borderline offensive. I’m never going to be considered brave for playing a straight person, and nor should I be. It’s hard to say this, because the context of the film is so deeply tragic, but for me there was a deep sense of peace on set that I had not felt in a really long time, potentially since I was a teenager and first having these really beautiful, fortunate moments in films. There was something about being out, getting to play a gay character, and getting to play a woman who is so inspiring to me—it was such an amazing experience for me. Honestly, if I played gay characters for the rest of my career, I’d be thrilled. I wish I could, honestly!

A Witch-Hunt: Of Our Own Creation
SENIOR cops are hauling VIPs into a “Middle Ages witch-hunt” on sex crime claims to make themselves famous, a furious Tory MP has claimed.
Former party vice-chairman Michael Fabricant also likened the Operation Midland probe into establishment sex rings to US Senator Joe McCarthy’s hunt for Communists in the 1950s.
Mr Fabricant spoke out after gay former Tory MP Harvey Proctor attacked the investigation into claims he tortured and murdered young boys.
Mr Fabricant said: “It seems a few police officers in some forces seek fame and promotion rather than justice for those they investigate.
“They connect individuals through the most tenuous of links and leak information to the Press.
“To link someone for being gay with being a murdering paedophile is objectionable and stupid.”
The Met, which is running Operation Midland, refused to comment.
