Bradley & Ottavio: State Of This

X Factor duo Bradley and Ottavio have claimed they were booted from Channel 4's Coach Trip because of 'homophobic bullying', according to a report.

The hopefuls - who made it through to Judges' Houses after Louis Walsh's controversial decisions saw him swap several groups during the Six Chair Challenge - have independently appeared on several reality shows including Channel 5's Strip Date and X Factor for a second time.

While on Channel 4's popular daytime show however, when they featured together, they were booted off after contestants deemed their behaviour to be 'irresponsible'.

Speaking about the departure, the pair have claimed there was much more to it, claiming the contestants were being homophobic, stating they wanted to 'get the gays out next'...

Mirror.

Could be justified here.

Nick Grimshaw: Do Fear The Reaper

This is terrible news - the man's career is in tatters.

He'll be back on North Norfolk Digital by June, mark my words.

X Factor: State Of This Though

Seann Miley Moore has always been a favourite to win X Factor, so it was a bit of a surprise to fans when he was booted off the show over the weekend.

But the singer, who is famed for his love of killer heels, has said he doesn't blame his mentor Nick Grimshaw for his exit.

"It's like Sophie's Choice, he can't make that decision," Seann said...

Daily Star.

Oh boo-hoo squish squish.

Pink News: Hard News

I am pleased that Pink News has finally given up any pretence of being a serious news site.

Update: Though later PN returned to being the home of sophisticated political debate...

Beavis: 'Putin looks gay!' Buttfuck: 'Hur hur hur.'

United Kingdom: Our Sunday Papers

How very interesting.

This is the star, so proceed with caution - but Grimmy's listening figures for her breakfast show have 'slumped to a record low', so she may want to focus on that.

Pink News: Mirror Image

Pink News.

Once more, they've just regurgitated a tabloid story without even seeing its bias.

In fact they've made it worse.

Why is Pink News' focus here; 'Girls are put off dating me because my mum is gay'?

The rest of the text is about how he stood by and stood up for his lesbian mum.

Can you remind me what the point of a gay media is again?

James Arthur: Idiot

“I’ve been an idiot. All I can say is it was ego — foolish, foolish pride. I got ideas above my station and I made mistakes. It’s the only excuse I’ve got.”

In an exclusive Sun on Sunday interview, heavily-tattooed James — back in the charts with Recovery — also blames his fame for driving him to a deep depression.

And speaking for the first time about his nervous breakdown last month, he reveals: “All my confidence has disappeared because the whole nation thinks I’m a homophobe who looks like a monster.

“I couldn’t speak to anyone for a week. It was awful. My little sister was being bullied in school and I was receiving constant death threats."

"On reflection, it was the most immature, ridiculous thing I’ve ever done. The word ‘queer’ was used in the rap which should never have been the case. In society you can’t use language like that.”

“I’m 100million per cent not homophobic. I despise that label being attached to me.

“I made ten male gay friends on X Factor. I shared a bed with Rylan Clark for ten weeks. I was spooning that guy. I grew up in a house full of women — I have four sisters. I’m more feminine than some gay men.

“I probably look like the archetypal bully. Now people look at me as if I might beat up a gay guy. That really upsets me."

He's said sorry, shall we move on now?
Someone saying a bad word is hardly the worst crime in the world.
And besides if James had to sleep with Rylan Clark, he's surely suffered enough?

James Arthur: Eh?

James Arthur and Lucy Spraggan 'queer' row: Disgusted fans demand album refund after bitter text exchange

Fans of James Arthur have requested an album refund after Lucy Spraggan published a bitter text exchange between the pair.

Impossible singer James became embroiled in yet another war of words with fellow former X Factor contestant Lucy after James used the word "queer" in a rap.

Last week, it emerged Impossible singer James used the derogatory term when performing a diss rap about unknown rapper Micky Worthless, branding him a "f**king queer".

James also used the words "scrubber", "peasant" and "motherf**ker" to insult the up and coming musician.

And the former X Factor champ was slammed by shocked fans on Twitter for his use of the derogatory terms with the singer even quitting the social networking site insisting only his management would be tweeting on his behalf in the future.

Mirror.

If you can really get a refund just because you bought a record by someone who you later found had opinions you don't agree with, then my friend - the world is fucked on a toadstool to absolute and utter buggeration while riding 'pon a flatulent unicorn sandwich to Neptune.*
Another victory for the boringay© thought police!
Yay!

*Please, someone, tell me this didn't actually happen.

PS James Arthur diagnosed with acute exhaustion following Twitter spat with Lucy Spraggan - Independent.

PPS Record bosses fear for James Arthur's mental health after 'gay' row. JAMES Arthur is feared to be on the brink of a breakdown after being warned his homophobic slur could have cost him his career. James Ingham, Daily Star.
Poor thing. Squish squish *sad face*.
Seems a bit over-stated to claim "his homophobic slur could have cost him his career".
He's an ex-X Factor contestant, so he's running on borrowed time anyway.
(Note also the "source" is ye olde standby an anonymous source).

Fagburn still doesn't understand why this has become such a big "thing".
Have I missed something?

James Arthur: Rank

Daily Star.

A famous person has said a bad word!
Then another famous person tweeted something about it!!!
Snore...

But then...

James Arthur is not homophobic, insists the Daily Star's top pop columnist, James Ingham - and she should know.
Is it just me who doesn't give two hoots about this story?

PS OH NOES!! A famous American man has alo said a bad word! Burn the witch! Will we ever be the same again? etc etc.

Update: James Arthur has a Twitter row about this with someone else from X Factor! Nope, still not that interested...

Daily Star: Man Has Bum Shock!

A man who was on the X Factor last night has a bum, the Daily Star has exclusively revealed.
The Star has photographic evidence that Sam Callahan has a bum from an image which they saw on Twitter.
It shows "Sam getting his kit off in the latest issue of THE Gay Times. The singer flashes his bum and abs in the cheeky pics."

They also "reveal that Callahan recently took part in a sexy photo shoot for a gay website".
"The handsome 19-year-old posed half-naked [ie not actually naked] for online magazine The Gay UK in June, with just a British flag wrapped around his waist hiding his modesty."
This was a "secret gay photo shoot" - so secret it was published in an online magazine, The Gay UK, in an interview Sam did under his real name promoting his singing career, just like countless other reasonably good-looking aspiring male pop stars regularly do these days.
The Star reassures readers that Sam is NOT GAY, he just likes Kylie and going to the gym.
Phew!
And that is your actual news.

Louis Walsh: Happy As Larry

I wonder about his sexuality. I ask him to tell me if he’s straight or gay. “I can’t,” he says. “Don’t go there. I can’t. I think your private life is your private life.”
It emerges that I am straight. “Really? Are you really straight? I thought you might be gay! I thought you might be.”
Of himself: “Don’t go there! I’m happy. Happy as Larry!”
I mention Kevin Spacey, who said he didn’t want to tell me if he is gay or straight, because to be mysterious, as an actor, is to have an advantage. Louis loves this: “Walking his dog at four in the morning!”
And: “I watched House of Cards. He’s great. Love him, love him, love him.”

Profile In The Times.

Louis also talks about the toilet incident (“It’s the worst thing ever in my life. My greatest nightmare. I thought my life was over”), Jan Moir on Stephen Gateley (“I think that was her opinion and, you know, in a way, she’s entitled to her opinion. I think she’s a good journalist. I’ve met her since, and I like her"), and is Simon Cowell a gayer ("Not at all... he's theatrical... it's an English thing").
So now you know...

Noam Chomsky: The X Factor

Professor of linguistics and political campaigner Noam Chomsky has been confirmed as the new judge on TV talent show The X Factor. ‘Cheryl Cole was still recovering from malaria and we needed someone who could fill the intellectual void,’ said programme creator Simon Cowell, ‘Professor Chomsky is perfect and the audience just loves him.’
In his first outing as judge, Chomsky quickly made his mark. ‘Your act is part of a propaganda state promoting a culture-ideology of comforting illusion’, he told one hopeful young girl, before adding, ‘I’m saying yes.’
Chomsky then set about a teenage boy-band, describing them as ‘yet another example of pre-packaged ideological oppression whose lyrics systematically fail to demonstrate even a basic understanding of what happened to East Timor in 1975,’ he paused for effect, ‘But, I’m giving you a second chance…You’re through to the next round.’
Not satisfied with attacking the acts, Professor Chomsky then turned his critique on The X Factor audience. ‘You are all complicit in a hegemonic construct designed primarily to keep you from questioning what is really going on in the world,’ he told them, ‘You must learn to think critically and reject the pernicious cult of celebrity.’ It was at this point that the audience went wild, whooping, cheering and chanting his name. ‘We love you Chomsky!’ they screamed as the 81 year-old professor sat at the table with his head in his hands...

NewsBiscuit.

Hohoho!

PS Uncle Noam's 84, actually.

Here Noam explains why the chicken crossed the road and answers other pressing questions of the day.
And on a lighter note, here's a recent speech by Chomsky; The U.S. Behaves Nothing Like a Democracy, But You'll Never Hear About It in Our 'Free Press'.
Here's a video interview from last month about Syria.
A new (short) book of interviews, Nuclear War And Environmental Catastrophe, has finally appeard in British bookshops.
Keep on rocking in the free world etc etc.

Thought For The Day: Simon Cowell

"I couldn't care less [if people think I'm gay] because it's nothing to be ashamed of. It feels like such an antiquated question now...
"If I was living 200 years ago in a coal mine, maybe [I'd mind], but I work in possibly the gayest industry in the world! Music and TV!
"It would make no difference to my life or my career. A lot of my friends are gay, but I'm not and don't even think that way any more."

Simon Cowell in a Radio Times interview, quoted in The Independent (and everywhere).
Not too sure what he means by that last sentence - anyone?
