Russia: Openly

B-b-but I keep reading in the media and from that leading expert on Russia, Stephen Fry, all gay men there are sent to death camps.

I think the posh interns the gay media loves to not pay for writing drivel go back to "uni" next week.

Stephen Fry Watch: Big Mouth Strikes Again

“There are many great plays which contain rapes, and the word rape now is even considered a rape. They’re terrible things and they have to be thought about, clearly, but if you say you can’t watch this play, you can’t watch Titus Andronicus, you can’t read it in an English class, or you can’t watch Macbeth because it’s got children being killed in it, it might trigger something when you were young that upset you once, because uncle touched you in a nasty place, well I’m sorry,.”

“It’s a great shame and we’re all very sorry that your uncle touched you in that nasty place – you get some of my sympathy – but your self pity gets none of my sympathy.” ...

Stephen Fry in an American TV interview.

After the fan was covered in elephant dung, Mr Fry did the obligatory 'I apologise unreservedly' thing.

Silly, cause he's kinda right.

USA: This Is Fascism

The Week.
A truly backwards, barbarian nation.

Doubtless Saint Peter Tatchell and Stephen Fry will be calling for a boycott and protesting outside the American embassy.

All together now; 'THIS IS HOW HITLER STARTED!'

Stop buying Coca Cola!

Joe My God.

Stephen Fry: Save Our Children

Saw a huge poster for this at Brighton Station.

How bold of Save A Child to get the notorious cradle-snatcher Stephen Fry to front this campaign, I thought.

Gay Misogyny: No Problem

Telegraph.

This is too crass for words.

Yes, Chas - Charles - Newkey-Burden actually argues that 'fag hags' and drag - never mind Stephen Fry's 'baglady' joke - are signs of gay men's misogyny!

He claims gay men call women 'fish'.

I've never heard this in 20 years, but then we must move in very different circles.

And that is the case for the prosecution!

Whilst there are certainly sexist gay men, to say this is a massive 'problem', or that we excel at it, is utter bollocks.

It's obvious most gay men adore women; from their friends, to their family, to their idols.

Some women are homophobic, but does this tell us anything about an entire sex?

The real issue here is Newkey-Burden's hatred and snobby contempt of ordinary gay men.

This is self-loathing masquerading as critique.

Charles was an 'anti-gay' gay journalist for OutCast magazine.

He's also, you may not be surprised to hear, posh as fuck, extremely right-wing and a Zionist.

He now writes shitty pulp biographies of the likes of One Direction and Justin Bieber.

The cunt.

PS Fry defended by Brendan O'Neill!

LOL.

Bye then.

Ant & Dec: So In Love

Aww...

And how sweet to have them finally coming out on Valentine's Day.

PS In other thrilling showbiz news Fagburn missed while he was away: Tom Daley backs sugar tax - huge fucking frying pans still okay! Stephen Fry hasn't split up from his child bride yet! Barry Manilow can't sing (or rap)! Louis Smith doesn't care everyone thinks he's a gayer! Sam Smith has lost a bit more weight! Elton John's been given a really good rimming by a journalist from the Evening Standard!

Stephen Fry: Why?

In this documentary, Stephen Fry tells the story behind his success, after presenting the BAFTAs for more than ten years.

With an outstanding career in film and television which began with a chance meeting with comedy partner Hugh Laurie at Cambridge, he went on to create the outrageous Melchett in Blackadder and has become a firm favourite on BBC2 with the quite interesting quiz QI...

BBC iPlayer.

Bafta host, a walk-on part in Blackadder, and quiz show host.

Doesn't actually sound like 'an outstanding career'.

Still, bless...

Stephen Fry: Shamelessly Bourgeois

When asked his response to those in the LGBT community who considered marriage an “antiquated, oppressive” institution, to be overthrown rather than joined, Fry said he was aware of how the campaign for marriage equality in Britain had taken on a “very distinctive, anti-bourgeois, anti-patriarchal sort of attitude” and become tied to a “great raft of issues that you could feel was all somehow opposed to the status quo and the establishment”.

[This is garbled, Fry namechecks the GLF and - bizarrely - the distinctly non-radical Campaign For Homosexual Equality, and meant lesbians and gay men who oppose marriage, obvs. 'The great raft of issues' embraced include 'feminism... Ban The Bomb'! 16 mins in].

However, “the fact that gay people have revealed themselves, some of them like myself, to be shamelessly bourgeois – I apologise to those who thought I’ve sold out but I’m afraid I never really bought in.”

Gaurdian online on this Australian TV interview for ABC News.

He also retells his favourite story - told by a friend of a friend, a royal courtier, no less - about Her Maj The Queen enthusiastically signing in the same-sex marriage bill.

Though I stand to be corrected by Mr Fry's infinite wisdom and inside knowledge, again, this is utter nonsense, she did not literally sign it, but it's clearly a comforting delusion for this arselicker by appointment to the House Of Windsor.

Stephen Fry: Take That World Leaders!

It is touching that Stephen Fry - who we are endlessly assured is very, very clever - thinks 'World Leaders' (?) will wise up and stop destroying the planet because some people have clicked on an online petition.

Bless!

QI: Swings, Roundabouts...

Mirror.

Fagburn hopes Mr Fry soon finds another platform for his insufferable pomposity and smugness.

Find out with this fun-packed interactive thing from BBC iWonder!

Will the BBC send Scott Mills, Reggie Yates and Stephen Fry to investigate???

Ukraine: This Is Fascism

BBC News.
Fagburn is very surprised - nay flabbergasted - at this turn of events in a country now governed by a neo-fascist junta who came to power in a CIA backed coup.

Whatever next!?

A boycott by Dan Savage and Michael Lucas?

A tear-soaked documentary by Dame Stephen Fry?

I wouldn't hold your breath.

Stephen Fry Watch: The Queen & !

'It was only last summer that Her Majesty The Queen gave the Royal Assent.'

'When the Queen signed the Royal Assent for the equal marriages act, allowing gay people to marry for the first time, she put it down and said "Well, who’d have thought 62 years ago when I came to the throne, I’d be signing something like this? Isn’t it wonderful?"'

Stephen Fry on The Jonathan Ross Show.

The more reactionary elements of the gay media wet their knickers - while doffing their pink caps - over this one.

No-one noticed the ever-so slight flaw in the story.

Her Maj didn't sign anything cause Royal Assent is not granted by the Queen literally signing a bill!

Daily Mail: Neanderthal Man

I entreat you not to misunderstand me. It would break my heart if any son of mine felt I was such a bigot that he couldn’t tell me he was gay, or thought that I’d love him any the less for it. I’d also like it on record that I came round long ago to civil partnerships, and I’m a little ashamed of my initial opposition to them.

But as I understand marriage, it’s an institution for child-rearing and mutual support between the sexes, which means the real thing can only be between a man and a woman.

Of course, you’re welcome to say that my views are Neanderthal and don’t matter a damn. But it is surely an incontrovertible fact that many millions share them.

I strongly suspect, too, that some of my other objections to the Fry-Spencer match will have occurred to many, if not most, parents of 27-year-olds.

But here is the truly remarkable thing. In all the copious coverage of the engagement over the past eight days, I’ve detected only two raised eyebrows. One belonged to the Mail’s own, ever-brave Amanda Platell, who drew disapproving attention to the age-gap. The other was a throwaway line from our equally doughty Sarah Vine, who floated the idea that a part of Mr Fry’s appeal to his fiancé may lie in the latter’s showbiz connections.

But no other paper that I’ve read has suggested there’s anything otherwise remarkable about this forthcoming marriage — let alone anything iffy or rum. Nor has anyone attempted to exploit the story for comic potential — odd, surely, since both participants are comedians.

Even the Sun — notorious in the past for such headlines as ‘Pulpit poofters’ on a story about gay vicars — treated the story exactly as it would have done any heterosexual engagement, reporting: ‘Loved-up Stephen Fry is “deeply touched” by the response to our revelations yesterday that he plans to marry toy-boy lover Elliott Spencer.’

Textbook stuff, you Neanderthal hate-filled old bigot.

When people come out with crap like this, there really is nothing to say.

Stephen Fry Watch: Bless!

Congratulations to Stephen Fry, 57, who announced his engagement to Elliott Spencer, 27, earlier today.
Looks a bit old to me, but whatever makes you happy, Stephen.
x

PS Won't last etc etc.

How The Sun broke the story about Stephen and his 'toyboy' (!)

Update: Everything you need to know about the future Mrs Mr Stephen Fry, Elliott Spencer! The Independent.

Actually just some things he's said on Twitter.

Wait, there's also some drivel by Smugtwit! Hurrah for the gay normals, writes Patrick.

Sunday Times Comment.

And finally... Media obsesses over age difference between Stephen Fry and new fiance, The Advocate. Glad someone did this cause I've lost interest.

Oh, and whatever happened to Mr Fry's last young friend, Steven Webb, then 26,

Tom Daley Watch: Noooooooo!!!

The Olympic diver has posted a naked snap of himself in a rainforest on Instagram this morning.

While the pic was a throwback from the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore, fans believe it has all but confirmed the star will appear on the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! kicks off next Sunday.

“Is this a hint that it's true you are going on I'm a celebrity,” one fan wrote under the snap.

Reports have suggested Tom, 20, is part of the new jungle line-up, and bookies already have him pinned as favourite to win.

Ladbrokes are offering odds of 7/2 he will be crowned champ, with a spokesperson saying: "Tom's already been backed by punters and he's clearly the one to beat this year...

Daily Star - regular reviewers may recall the Star has a history of making up stories about our Tom, which turn out to be hilariously wrong.

Meh, any excuse to run this photo.

Maybe this is where Stephen Fry is heading off to?

PS Want to hear about an ex-Star journalist who quit after being asked to make up one too many stories, see Richard Peppiatt's new documentary, One Rogue Reporter .

OMG!!! Attention stalkers! Win a double date with Tom and Dustin Lance Black!!!

It's free to enter, but you're asked to make a donation.

Tom, admirably, wants half the money raised to go to the Brain Tumour Charity, in memory of his dad.

Lance wants half to go to the Human Rights Campaign - this leading American gay rights group really need the money; their declared income last year was a measly $38,500,000.

And the money that doesn't go on mega salaries, goes on imperial nonsense like this.

PS This is being plugged in the US gay media - hope our American friends read the small print about having to provide your own air travel and accommodation.

Stephen Fry Watch: Noooooooo!!!

There's only one way to find out....

Richard Coles Watch: Rev It Up

'I feel very much like the poor man’s Stephen Fry...'

Daily Telegraph.

She's everywhere right now, isn't she?

Thank 'god'.

PS You should know by now that our rev is one of the funniest people on Twitter. Today he RT-ed this adorable photo of his younger self butching it up on a barge. Bless!
