GT: All The Pain And None Of The Gain

Good to see the editor of GT is fighting back against accusasations he's dumbing the magazine down with some serious hard-hitting articles.
Well done.

  1. What an absolute fucking travesty that magazine has become.
    Does anyone still read it???
    Sad really.

  2. I just had a look at their site.
The Editor's Letter for this issue is comedy gold...

Our article on gay prisoners this issue may not be representational of the plight of queers inside overall – the way they are treated varies wildly between different institutions, largely according to the whims of the governors. But it does show that solidarity and a sense of community can be found in the most unlikely of places.
It made me think again about that often repeated question: Does the gay community really exist? Obviously it does – just like we are all part of a community where we live, whether we bother to speak to our neighbours or not. We have shared interests and shared needs and what effects one of us often effects us all.
The real question should be whether our gay (or LGBT if you prefer) community lives up to its potential or our expectations? Often it does – just look at the leading role queer activists played in protesting the Pope’s visit to Britain and making it clear that his homophobia was not welcome. But that doesn’t mean gay people are incapable of being selfish, apathetic and dishonest.
Saying that such behaviour proves there is no gay community or gives you an excuse to opt out of it is selfish too. I don’t say that lightly as it’s often decent people who have made an effort to give something back that are the most disillusioned. But when you’re knocked down you have to get up and carry on – that’s not rewarding those people who have treated you unfairly, it’s proving them wrong. I hope you too will take some inspiration from our story of life inside; if prisoners are prepared to stand up for what is right, surely (fairly) upstanding citizens like us should do the same.
And as a reward for our renewed efforts, GT is packed full of hot guys this issue, including an exclusive shoot with The Wanted who are some of the funniest, liveliest, rudest and most gay-friendly lads we’ve met in a long time. I hope you enjoy it.

  5. The last time I read it it was nothing more than a brochure for Prowler products.
One quick glance at that website shows that nothing has changed.
