Marriage was only defined in British law as having to be between a man and a woman in 1971.

• Some of the few articles to have come out of this dull debate that haven't bored the nadgers off of me have been about how much marriage has changed over time - a fascinating subject which many gaybashing God-botherers seem blissfully ignorant about.
