James Franco's Cruising: Yay!

Obviously we're all thrilled to bits here at Fagburn Mansions to hear about James Franco's Cruising, a new "art porn film" directed by Travis Mathews.
That's the title, by the way - James Franco's Cruising.
Franco had wanted to do a remake, but couldn't get the rights.
So it's "inspired by", recreating or imagining what was in 40 minutes William Friedkin cut from the movie before release (it's unclear whether this is just a film short).
Friedkin has said he wasn't approached about the rights, so there's hope for a proper remake.
Though if it's updated will the cop just log onto Grindr?
