GLAAD: To Support Big Business

Dodgy big company gives gay group big cheque.
Gay group supports dodgy big company in scary corporate takeover bid.
Simples.

More here.

No News: Is Kate Moss News

Fagburn can detect nothing else worth commenting on in today's papers.
So here is a picture of Kate Moss - who's getting married or something.
Well done Kate!
Like all the papers it gives me a - reluctant - opportunity to run a photo of you looking hot.
With - purely by happenchance - Tom Daley.
Sluts.

The Sun: Aaargh!

"RAUNCHY pop videos could be banned from TV before 9pm under plans revealed next week.
Nudity and sexual scenes could even earn cinema-style 15 or 18 ratings.
"The proposals are in a report on the sexualisation of children ordered by PM David Cameron.
"It blasts the stream of near-the-knuckle promos by stars such as Rihanna, Lady GaGa and Katy Perry - who shot cream from canisters on her breasts in her California Gurls video.
"The report by Reg Bailey - the first male chief executive of the Mothers' Union - does not propose rules for live performances..."

Screams the Sun.
Fagburn wishes people realised Reg Bailey has just written a report - he doesn't have the power to ban anything, and no-one knows what it says as it's not published til Monday.
It will almost certainly call for less sexy stuff in popular culture - that is its point - and he's scared of The Gays, but this carries as much weight as Fagburn calling for a more sex in popular culture with more of The Gays.
It's just an "independent report".
This story has to be the most farcical of the year.
I'd say the reporting of it has been laughable, but it really just makes me want to smash my head against the wall.
Nothing is happening.
I doubt much will change.
There will be no bans on lesbians kissing.
Or on Katy Perry's tits.
This non-story is just an excuse for The Daily Mail to print pictures of lesbians kissing.
And for The Sun to print a photo of Katy Perry's bazookas, as pictured above.
For fuck's sake!

Jack Kervorkian: 1928-2011

"If gay people want to marry somebody, that’s their business. Government has no business dictating that. Just like they have no business dictating what you do for health. I’m for allowing what the person wants...
"Only when we finish democratizing the world… then we’ll realize, we’ll even be shown that we’re slaves, because then you won’t have the power to do anything. And we’re headed that way.
“Time is running out. Your democracy is eroding, your civilization is crumbling and justice disappeared long ago. So you’re very close now to being totally enslaved.”

How true. From a an interview in Take Part.

He never married...

Joe McElderry: But Is It?

Joe's doing some crap on the tellybox.
Simon Cowelll's not involved so it might work out okay.
Joe says; "We parted on a good note. No one was to blame. It was kind of expected. I was only contracted for one album and it didn't work out how I'd hoped. The second single didn't work out either, which was disappointing. But I could just feel it wasn't right. I kind of knew it. I've had time to digest this and I'm OK with it now."
Stay away from Simon Cowell - and message to Ronan!
Danny from McFly was in the last series.
And he is super cute,
So here is a picture of him.
The little slut!

Ronan Parke: Leave Ronan Alone!

Please.
The kid's 12.
Leave him alone - or support him.

Update: He didn't win.

Duncan Campbell: Queero

Fagburn has just met one of his queeroes; Duncan Campbell - investigative journalist and whistle blower.
He's moved to Brighton.
As indeed we all do.

Drugs: Massive Fail

Dear Prime Minister

We, the signatories of this letter, call on the Coalition Government to undertake a swift and ransparent review of the effectiveness of current drug policies. Should such a review of the vidence demonstrate the failure of the current position we would call for the decriminalisation of drug possession.
This week marks the 40th anniversary of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. In the past forty years use of illicit drugs in the UK has grown rapidly. It is clear that the present system of applying the criminal law to the personal use and possession of drugs has failed in its aim. Conversely, the harms caused by pursuing this approach to drug use have been significant.
In the last year alone nearly 80,000 people in the UK were found guilty or cautioned for possession of an illegal drug - most were young, black or poor. This policy is costly for taxpayers and damaging for communities. Criminalising people who use drugs leads to greater social exclusion and stigmatisation making it much more difficult for them to gain employment and to play a productive role in society. It creates a society full of wasted resources.
In 2010 the Vienna Declaration was launched at the International AIDS conference, the Declaration called for a more evidence based health focused approach to drug policy and for the decriminalisation of drug possession. To date the Declaration has been signed by over 20,000 people worldwide including former presidents of several South American countries, Nobel Prize winners in the fields of science and literature, members of the judiciary and senior law enforcement officials. In the UK there have been repeated calls for a review of the current system from members of the Bar Council, the medical profession and members of both Houses of Parliament, notably the former Minister responsible for drugs.
In 2001 Portugal decriminalised the possession of all drugs and, despite sensationalist predictions to the contrary, this has led to a decrease in the number of young people using illicit drugs, an overall reduction in the number of people using drugs problematically, fewer drug related deaths, and an increase in people accessing treatment voluntarily, things we would all like to see happen in the UK. Whilst there are other factors to take into account, it is clear from the Portuguese experience, and from other jurisdictions, that the decriminalisation of drug possession and use does not lead to an increase in drug use or related harms.
The failure of the current UK system of criminalisation is clear - alternatives must be considered. It is time for the UK to review its policy, to reduce its reliance on an overburdened criminal justice system, and to adopt an evidence based and health focused approach to drug use.

Yours sincerely some famous people.
An open letter organised by the great Release.
Fagburn thinks taking drugs being illegal is as daft as making cocksucking illiegal.
It's fun, what's your problem?
Maybe you don't like it, but some people do.
Don't piss on someone's pleasure.
And since when did I need permission for anything?
Legalise it!

Pete Townshend: Talking Bollocks

"I think it's sad that we will only remember Keith's book because of what he said about the size of Mick's genitals. Which, by the way, to use an apt term, is b*******. [I guess he said "bollocks" - FB]
"I've seen them and they are not small. And it is not just the balls that are big."

In The Sun.
Pete's writing his own memoirs for HarperCollins, Who Me?
Should be interesting - as Pete is so sexually confused.

Ronan Parke: A Correction

"There has been speculation on the internet that Britain's Got Talent finalist Ronan Parke was known to and worked with Syco/Sony Music before entering the show. There is no truth in this story whatsoever. Ronan first came to Syco/Sony's attention when he entered this year’s competition. Syco/Sony Music will not hesitate to take whatever legal action is appropriate to prevent further publication of these unfounded allegations.”

Got sent this many, many times today.
The post has been "Removed due to a claim from Simco Limited ("Syco") and Sony Music Entertainment UK Limited ("Sony")."
Fagburn doesn't really care about this - I don't own a tellybox, but I'll
post the letter everyone's read in the comments section below.
Anarchy!
Now I feel like John Hemming.
I also think Ronan's a top lad.
Whatever...
Fagburn hopes the lttle screamer wins.
But is the world ready for a gay Justin Bieber?
The question is academic - Simon Cowell will fuck up your career anyway, like he did to Joe McElderry.
Tread carefully Ronan, tread carefully...

Update: Interesting discussion on the Ronanemailgate thing internet thing.

Kevin Keller: Disgusting Dads & Lads Comic Out Soon

Kevin Keller may find himself dead square in the national debate over gays in the military because of his dad.
Keller, the first openly gay character in Archie Comics’ 70-year history, is loud and proud of his father, a retired Army colonel, in a four-issue miniseries debuting next week.
Archie, Veronica, Jughead and the rest of the Riverdale gang are puzzled given their pal’s sexual orientation. They’re even more perplexed when Kevin’s mom calls her son her “future military man.”
The miniseries debuts Wednesday, and will be released monthly.
Writer and artist Dan Parent says Kevin’s relationship with his father is a key plank of the character’s identity, just as much as his being gay.
“We just wanted to show a healthy father-son relationship where Kevin’s sexuality wasn’t an issue, similarly to the reaction he got from the gang in Riverdale,” Parent said.
He talked to numerous children of career military members, and found that they all shared the same bond with family.
“There’s a certain thing Army brats have in common, and its that feeling of not getting too comfortable in one spot because you really don’t know how long you’ll be there,” Parent said. “And, maybe not in all cases, but I think in many, there’s a closer family bond because all you have from place to place is that immediate family to rely on.”
Throughout the story arc, Kevin’s homosexuality is one of many threads of the tale of a teenager who aspires to be a journalist but only after attending the U.S. Military Academy and becoming an Army officer.
Jon Goldwater, co-chief executive of Archie Comics, said Kevin is not meant to be a divisive figure.
“The way it’s presented is done with such a light touch. It’s kind of the way Dan introduced Kevin,” he said. “We’re not trying to come across as preachy or heavy-handed or even political.”

Associated Press.
As I've said before, surely only fags buy these mags?
I think this is proven by Kevin Keller being the third most popular reason people hit on Fagburn after Lady Gaga and Tom Daley.
Can anyone explain this?

Bob Mould: Do You Remember?

Fucking hell!
Bob Mould has written his autobiography!
It is called See A Little Light - The Trail Of Rage and Melody.
Fagburn thought it it was super cool Mr Mould started out as a grumpy king of Indie Rock, came out and then became a superstar House DJ playing to lots of gay men with their shirts off.
The very idea that a fag is somehow radical cause he doesn't dance to Disco, but likes Rock is a moronic bourgeois delusion.
Whatever...
This though makes me prefer Hüsker Dü - what an ace song!

Paul Daniels: You Won't Like This

"MAGICIAN Paul Daniels claims he is being stalked by a nude lesbian young enough to be his granddaughter.
"Veteran TV star Paul, 73, said the 27-year-old brunette has sent him dozens of X-rated photos.
"His agent described the woman, a model and student, as "a nutter" who has bombarded him on Twitter.
"Yet she and Paul - famed for his "Not a lot!" catchphrase - have exchanged at least 300 messages on the social networking site over five months, most recently last Monday.
"In one exchange, the woman wrote: "No one saw me just run screaming like a girl past the spider to the kitchen in my underwear, right?"
"To which Paul - who has been married to stage sidekick Debbie McGee for 23 years - replied: "There's never a video when you want one..."

From The Sun, but you probably guessed that.
Fagburn is beginning to think that The Sun must employ a team of poor sods who have to trawl through celebs' Twitter pages to come up with silly fluff like this.
Well, I say "employ", they're probably interns.

Why not follow Mr Daniels - "professional magician, International sex symbol and body builder" - on Twitter?
Paul's tasteful response to this article; "I am reminded of the gag: old man was accused of rape by a young girl and pleaded guilty 'cos he wanted the world to think he could..."
Ooops!

Jodi Pilcoult: No Surprises

Zillion-selling author Jodi Pilcoult has a new book out, Sing You Home.
It's about The Gays and that!
"I actually started writing about this because it was so upsetting to me personally that gay rights is even an issue in this country," she says. "I travel enough to know that it just isn't an issue anywhere else. And they wonder why Americans are so hung up on it. I have so many gay friends and I've known so many gay people over the years. I have gay relatives."
She sure does. Including her 19 year-old son, Kyle.
He came out while Jodi was writing her new book.
Who knew?
"I knew Kyle was gay. I knew when he was 3 that he was gay. But I felt great that he felt comfortable enough with us to come to that conclusion while still in high school and to share it with us..."
And Kyle's coming out gave Sing You Home a sense of urgency.
"It suddenly became more than just a philosophical study. It became the mission of a mother. Because when Kyle is ready to get married and have kids, I don't want him to have to jump through hoops."
Aren't mums wonderful?

Rip & Roll: Ban This Filth!

This - let's be frank - disgusting advert was bannned in Queensland, Australia by billboard company Adshel after complaints from God-fearing Christians from the wonderfully literally named Australian Christian Lobby - on account of the fact that these two dudes are practiaclly bumming.
Sadly a partly Twitter-led campaign by perverts made Adshel change their decision within 24 hours.
Fortunately one of the posters in a Brisbane bus shelter has had the legend "Kill Em All" added, presumably by a Christian.
The Australian Christian Lobby are now campaigning to change the fag-worshiping name of Queensland.
Praise be!

ATOS: Cash From Chaos

"Janet was kept waiting for nearly an hour. The doctors were running late, she was told, because of "transport problems". Finally, her name was called and she was taken through the locked security doors and into an assessment room. The doctor told her to take a seat and proceeded to work on his computer.
""I could tell he was clicking down a column of boxes. I could tell from the way he was moving the mouse." The doctor said nothing more to Janet for "at least five minutes". He then asked about her medication and also her physical health. And then – "I think it's because I said I had piles" – he launched into the most extraordinary diatribe.
"Janet was forced to sit and listen as the doctor described in graphic detail the physical damage men did to each other by having anal sex. "They're everywhere!" the doctor said. "They're running the government." He would not allow his grandchildren to be brought up in a country run by homosexuals and paedophiles.
"Janet, who is herself gay, said nothing. She found herself wondering if it was part of the test. The doctor went on to tell her that a lesbian couple had complained about him, saying that he had rejected their claim because he was homophobic. "I had to go to tribunal," he said. "I could have lost my job. But they found against them and they lost their benefits." The doctor then left the room without any explanation. Some minutes later he returned with a nurse and proceeded to examine Janet's feet..."

Clare Allan writing on Guardian Online.
This doesn't surprise me.
ATOS are the private profit-driven company hired by the government to try and scare and throw vulnerable people off benefits.
Maybe we can all get jobs doing Disabilty Assessments at ATOS Healthcare.
An interesting assessment of the ATOS crooks and creeps here.

An open letter in The Guardian signed by Mind, Centre For Mental Health etc;
"We've found that the prospect of IB reassessment is causing huge amounts of distress, and tragically there have already been cases where people have taken their own life following problems with changes to their benefits. We are hugely worried that the benefits system is heading in a direction which will put people with mental health problems under even more pressure and scrutiny, at a time when they are already being hit in other areas such as cuts to services..."

Sports News: AWWWW

"Sam Maden is 12 years old. He loves the Boston Red Sox. And he believes in equality, inspired by his Uncle Chris, who died unexpectedly in January at the age of 43.
So when Sam's teacher recently asked him to come up with a project that could "make a difference" in the world, Sam had an idea to merge his love for the Red Sox with a cause his uncle believed in passionately: ending the bullying of gay kids and kids perceived to be gay.
Inspired by news that the San Francisco Giants had responded to a fan's petition on Change.org by announcing they would become the first pro sports team to create an "It Gets Better" anti-bullying video, Sam came up with an idea to ask his favorite team on the planet - the Red Sox -- to step up to the plate.
Sam decided to honor his uncle by starting a petition asking the Red Sox to make an "It Gets Better" video as well. In the last 24 hours, more than 5,000 people -- mostly Red Sox fans -- have signed Sam's petition on Change.org.

Watch it here.

Isalamophobia: "Fanatic" Puts Up Four Stickers - Now Charged

'Muslim fanatic fined £100 for 'gay free zone' stickers'
Fagburn doesn't know about you, but I think this is the end of the world.
Some stickers, you say?
How dare he?
Apparently the young chap was "a bit foreign".
He'd get less time if he repeatedly ran over the head of a baby.
I may put up a sticker.

Fagburn: Currently Reading

Been looking forward to this book for ages.
Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class by noted wise gayer, Owen Jones.
Now I suppose I'll have to read it.

David Norris: Socrates, Plato & Guys Like Me

'Irish presidential hopeful David Norris in row over paedophilia remarks'
Really?
I wonder what David actually said.

“We got into an academic discussion about Plato’s Symposium and the things that were discussed in that. It was ancient Greek classical literature.
“I made a distinction between paedophilia and pederasty, which is a totally different thing. To the average person it would not make any difference I suppose but to me it did because I knew what I was talking about. That got mixed up and stayed mixed up.
“I abhor with every fibre of my being the idea of interference with children, sexual abuse, physical abuse and emotional abuse. My record on that speaks for itself.”
Asked about the distinction between pederasty and paedophilia he said the former was referred to in Plato’s Symposium .
“They discussed stuff and they talk about love between two men and the system in Greece where an older man at the gymnasium took a younger man, but a man, classified as over the age of consent in this country, under his wing and lovingly started a relationship with him. They were proud of it.
“The debate on the Symposium is very interesting because at the end of it, Alchibiades, who is a beautiful young man, has offered himself to Socrates. Socrates refuses because he says wisdom is forever but the body perishes.”
He said it was a mistake to have allowed himself get involved in what he said was an “academic and intellectual discussion” on pederasty. He maintained he was flabbergasted by the questions put to him by Ms Burke, and their graphical content, and should have got up and left the restaurant.
“I was foolish. I should not have let myself get into an academic discussion with somebody I knew only as a restaurant critic. I felt astonished at the questions. I said I did not want to talk about sex and she said that in the article.”

The Irish Times.
Senator David Norris is running for Irish President.
He should have learnt not to talk sense in the Age of Stupid.
And that good men tend to get crucified.

James Cauty: A Riot In A Jam Jar

James Cauty is doing something in Clerkenwell.
Fagburn adores him but he really should update his website.
I think this montage says all that needs to be said about modern Britain.
He has a new exhibition on;
A RIOT IN A JAM JAR at L-13.

Fagburn: Current Listening...

I wish my heart would grow up.

The Daily Mail: Loves Gay Teenage Boys Who Rule The School

A rather strange piece in The Daily Mail today;
'Glee becomes reality: Male prom queens are the real deal as three schools in the U.S. give the tiara to teenage boys'
It's strange for several reasons.
Not least as it's so not written in the Mail's house-style and is credited to 'Daily Mail Reporter'.
That's normally code for a lifted story.
There have been many stories about "this sort of thing" in the American media recently, but who wrote this?
The quotes are attributed to various local US media; WDBJ7 and The Sun Sentinel.
Odd.
But what the hey - it's a cute piece;
"Most young girls dream of the day they will be crowned prom queen.
"And it seems some young boys have the same dream and are not going to let the small matter of their sex get in the way of realising that dream.
"No sooner did Glee's gay teenager Kurt Hummel get crowned prom queen on a recent episode of the hit TV show, than similar events were happening in high schools across America.
"Blacksburg High School student Jake Boyer, from Virginia, has added being his year's prom queen to a list of accolades which already include senior class secretary, choir member and editor of his magazine..."
For once Fagburn praises the Daily Mail...
