Although the Western gay press has understandable historical qualms about Christianity it also has a history of dismissing any and all concerns about Islam. So in the wake of Orlando the gay press was filled not with pieces warning gay people about Islamic gay-hate, but pieces going out of their way to warn people against linking the massacre to Islam or Muslims. In particular there was a flurry of articles warning gay people not to become ‘haters’. Which is only the gay version of a wider Western sickness. You got attacked? Be careful you don’t become a bigot now.
At the weekend I picked up a copy of the UK gay magazine Attitude – a sort of post-Orlando memorial edition – which showed nothing had changed. The aim of the edition was not just to avoid treading on any sore Islamic toes, but to deliberately avoid the subject of Islam. Well these people, as Martin Amis once said in a related context, are disappearing up the fundament of the people who want to kill them. They should enjoy it while it lasts. The fact that a majority of British Muslims want being gay in Britain to be made illegal strikes me as a salient and troubling fact even if I can’t seem to get anyone else interested in the point...

Donald Trump: Ask The Gays
Donald Trump continues to invoke his newly enumerated, but highly dubious support for LGBT people to encourage his election to the White House.
After recognizing the LGBT victims of the mass shooting during a national security speech on Monday reiterating his call for a Muslim ban, Trump again referenced the LGBT community on Wednesday during a rally in Atlanta, Ga.
“For the gays out there, ask the gays and ask the people, ask the gays what they think and what they do in not only Saudi Arabia, in many of these countries with the gay community,” Trump said. “Let’s ask. Then you tell me: Who’s your friend, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?”
Trump invoked LGBT people to criticize his rival Hillary Clinton for accepting donations to the Clinton Foundation, which conducts overseas humanitarian work, from countries that criminalize homosexuality like Saudi Arabia.
“They want to enslave women,” Trump said. “As far as the gay community, they kill gays. And she’s taking money.”
Referencing the reported contributions Saudi Arabia gave the Clinton Foundation, Trump said of the country, “I wonder why we take care of them.”

Promoting his plan to bar Muslims from entering the United States, Trump called it “a temporary ban in particular from certain people coming from certain horrible, where you have tremendous terrorism in the world.”
“You know what those places are,” Trump said. “But we have to put a stop to it. We have to put a stop to it until such time as we can figure out what is going on because right now we don’t have a clue what’s going on, folks.”
Trump also cited LGBT support when he decried the idea of allowing Syrian refugees to enter the United States on the basis that Muslims practice Sharia law, which he said institutes “execution for things that you would say are, like, standard parts of life.” Sharia law calls for the death of gay people by stoning.
“I will tell you the LGBT community, the gay community, the lesbian community, they are so much in favor of what I’ve been saying over the last three or four days,” Trump said to applause..
Washington Blade.
I could bore you to buggery about the media - the straights and the gays - who still use 'gays' as a noun.
PS Gays for Trump. An actual thing and not a joke.

How much longer can we continue to deny a fault line has been drawn? On one side Islam and Muslims defined by it, writes KATIE HOPKINS. On the other the LGBT community, defined by their right to love as they please.
Over the last two days, the deference of the liberal Left to Muslims over the LGBT community has been excruciating to watch. Unable to reconcile the two causes they champion, they have an awkward inconvenience they dare not face. An ex-wife at a wedding, acknowledged with an invitation, but sat at the back, facing the air-con unit. Predictably they have chosen Islam. And don't tell me the 'acts of a few extremists do not represent Islam', because I am sick of hearing it. Every time another Islamist takes down a club, knocks out an airport or wipes out the subway, we are supposed to embrace Muslims and spread the love.
Daily Mail.
Why did I read this?
Why!!??

'The instant exploitation of this attack is part of a more general trend of exploiting liberal social issues to glorify agendas of militarism, tribal conflicts, and aggressive foreign policies.
Decorate the GCHQ headquarters or the Tel Aviv city hall with the
LGBT’s rainbow flag colors and suddenly mass surveillance and decades-long military occupation
seems pretty and liberal. Choose militaristic U.S. Presidents who
represent social milestones of race and gender and suddenly their
militarism seems to liberals to be more tolerable and even inspiring. Pretend that the war on Afghanistan is about feminism, and aggression toward Iran is about protecting LGBTs, and watch liberals melt with appreciation.
Disguise anti-Muslim animus as pro-LGBT activism and one can quickly
expand support for a neocon mentality and agenda into large sectors of
western liberalism.
'Depicting anti-LGBT hatred as the exclusive (or even predominant) province of Islam is not only defamatory toward Muslims but does a massive disservice to the millions of LGBTs who have been — and continue to be — seriously oppressed, targeted, and attacked by people have nothing to do with Islam. The struggle of LGBTs around the world is difficult enough without having them cynically used as some sort of prop to bash a group that itself is already being bashed from multiple directions.'
Stop Exploiting LGBT Issues to Demonize Islam and Justify Anti-Muslim Policies, Glenn Greenwald.
Hope Peter Tatchell reads this - then maybe he'll see why so many gay men on the left think he's a right wing imperialist stooge.
Here he is being not racist or Islamophobic earlier.

Peter Tatchell Watch: I'm Free
That the man in question is Peter Tatchell – one of the country’s best-known gay rights campaigners, who next year celebrates his 50th year as an activist – is perhaps a mark of how fractured the debate on free speech and sexual politics has become.
In the emails, sent to the organisers of a talk at Canterbury Christ Church University on Monday on the topic of “re-radicalising queers”, Cowling refuses an invitation to speak unless Tatchell, who has also been invited, does not attend. In the emails she cites Tatchell’s signing of an open letter in the Observer last year in support of free speech and against the growing trend of universities to “no-platform” people, such as Germaine Greer, for holding views with which they disagree.
Cowling claims the letter supports the incitement of violence against transgender people. She also made an allegation against him of racism or of using racist language. Tatchell told the Observer that the incident was yet another example of “a witch-hunting, accusatory atmosphere” symptomatic of a decline in “open debate on some university campuses”...
The Observer.
A predictably disingeneous piece about Peter Tatchell.
As the article states this isn't about 'no-platforming', Peter here is just piggy-backing on a current hot topic to serve himself, something he's made an art of for the last 30 years.
Nor, rather obviously, has he been denied of freedom of speech or been censored.
One (1!) student panellist, Fran Cowling, said she wouldn't be attending as she thinks Tatchell's been racist and transphobic.
Perhaps, quite understandably, she just didn't want to be near this awful man?
It's surely more remarkable that other people are still willing to enter into serious discussion with this increasingly silly, erratic and ridiculous self publicist.
It is predictably hypocritical of Saint Peter to wibble on about free speech when, for example, he has argued for no-platforming of Islamic 'hate preachers' at the East London Mosque and the Muslim scholar, Dr Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
He's even had a book withdrawn for commiting the supreme crime; criticising Peter Tatchell!
He's tried to hound other people out of their jobs.
He supported the prosecution of a Northern Ireland bakers who didn't want to make a cake with a pro-gay marriage message on (until two weeks ago!).
He's even tried to have music and musicians banned.
Going crying to The Observer to complain about a young female student who'd dared to criticise him seems part of his infamous arrogant and bullying behaviour.
He must have known this would lead to her being harrassed online - presumably this was his intention?
It's hardly the action of some self-proclaimed champion of free speech.
But observers of Peter Tatchell will know all Peter Tatchell is interested in now is Peter Tatchell.
With his tireless and tiresome yet successful campaign of self-promotion in the media, by reducing a movement to himself, it is hard to think of anyone who has done more damage to furthering the cause of gay activism in this country.
Whilst
One would hope Peter will apologise for his disgusting behaviour - but when has Mr Vain ever done that before?
In the interests of 'free speech', if nothing else, can this odious mentalist 70s gay dinosaur now shut the fuck up and retire?
• Help I'm Being Persecuted: Hypocrisy and free speech, Scott Long 2015.
PS The second half of The Observer feature; a potted biography of Tatchell, where Saint Peter is credited for every advance in gay rights over the last 50 years, is so fawning, ridiculous and uncritical it could have been written by him.

Alpha-Homo: Turn To The Right
A major transformation of Europe is now in motion.
Our own Faith Goldy has pointed out the pitiful response of Europe’s men towards the recent epidemic of rape and sexual assault.
Of course, there are many men speaking out and fighting back, but often they are smothered by accusations of ‘racism’, ‘mansplaining’ and ‘white privilege’ or just ignored altogether.
Aside from strong women like Marine Le Pen and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the most oppositional voices have come from Europe’s gay men.
A prime example of this is Breitbart editor and leader of the Twitteratti-glitterati, Milo Yianoppolous, who has been strongly outspoken regarding Europe’s current predicament.
On a recent appearance on the BBC’s Big Questions, he made straight men in the room look like damp rags and rightly deserved the right to tweet, "I am one of the very few alpha homosexuals."
It’s not just Milo, but other gay men like Douglas Murray and David Starkey, who are increasingly representing the masculine voice on British television.
The rise in gay men who are concerned about Europe’s future is not just limited to charismatic TV personalities. At the grassroots level too, there is a lot of evidence that Europe’s gay men are leading the way in opposition to Islamification...
These "alpha-homos" remind me very much of Oscar Wilde. When a group of rugby boys arrived at Wilde’s dormitory to destroy his blue and white china, the 6' 3" Wilde picked up the first boy, threw him, and knocked them all down the stairs as if he was playing a game of skittles. Wilde then said, "Well boys, that’s enough of that game, if you want to I shall make you toast with anchovy butter and tell you stories." The rugby boys meekly went back up the stairs, sat and were enraptured by his tales.
We have a moral duty to protect 50 years’ worth of fighting to achieve gay rights. Not only this, but we have a moral duty to maintain Europe as a safe haven for refugee gay men fleeing the least tolerant regions of the world.

Afghanistan: Dancing Boys
Not sure why the Express are running this today - the quotes and photos are taken from a 2009 PBS TV documentary, The Dancing Boys Of Afghanistan.
Though 'Muslims equal paedos' is of course a familar Express riff.
But I guess it's been dug up following their silly story on Monday claiming ISIS is secretly a pederastic 'Gay Cult'.
Edit: Fuller story and more pics on Mail Online, who love running seemingly titillating stories about underage or 'barely legal' sex ('School miss had sex with teenage lad' is a favourite).
PS Compare and contrast with the Express's front page warning today that IMMIGRANTS ARE COMING FOR OUR WOMEN!!!
Is no-one safe!!???

Peter Tatchell: Reaching Out To LGBT Muslims
Peter Tatchell is launching a new campaign to convince everyday Muslims to embrace LGBT rights, and improve links between the LGBT and Muslim communities.
The veteran human rights campaigner will hold a street stall outside Whitechapel tube station in East London this Wednesday, in a bid to reach out to the local Muslim community...
Pink News.
Well done, Peter!
Hope no-one thinks this shows a patronising 'White Savior' mindset, and you think LGBT Muslims can't do this for themselves.
More details here.
This is a big 'yah boo sucks' to these silly people, eh?
"Clearly, Tatchell, whom I strongly defended against homophobia when he was selected as the Labour candidate in Bermondsey, has lost his political bearings and constructed a fantasy world in which the main threat we face, worse than the far right, is Islamic fundamentalist hordes."
Former comrade Ken Livingstone, Tatchell's Islamic Conspiracy, Labour Left Briefing 2005.
Peter Tatchell, The anti-Muslim campaigner, Stelios Ioannou, IndyMedia 2007.
Peter Tatchell not only encourages Islamophobia – he defends the right of homophobes to incite hatred against the LGBT community, Bob Pitt, Islamophobia Watch 2011.

Hysteria Watch: Islamism Is The New Paedo Panic
Convicted terrorists and other extremists will be put on a register that mirrors the vetting regime used by authorities to check if a person has a conviction for child sex abuse.
It will ensure they are ‘automatically banned from working with children… in the same way as individuals convicted of sexual offences against children’, a Downing Street official said last night.
During a party conference speech earlier this month, the Prime Minister warned that ‘passive tolerance’ of extremism and a failure to make Muslim communities integrate had put Britain’s children in ‘danger’.
Today he will say the ‘stakes are rising’ and Britain can no longer ‘turn a blind eye’ to fanatics who are brainwashing children to take part in terrorism or become jihadis...

Nicky Morgan: How Thick?
The Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, has said that children who hold homophobic views should be considered at greater risk of becoming radicalised.
Speaking as schools in England and Wales were issued with a guide on how to spot pupils in danger of radicalisation, Ms Morgan said attacking core British values or being extremely intolerant of homosexuality were examples of behaviour that could raise the alarm.
Ms Morgan, who twice voted against gay marriage in 2013 before being made minister for Equalities the following year, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "Radicalisation or the risk of children being drawn into non-violent extremism is a very real threat in this country." ...
Asked to come up with an example of behaviour that might be a cause for concern, she said: "Sadly, Isis are extremely intolerant of homosexuality."

This simpleton is in charge of the nation's education.
I'll just leave that awhile to sink in...
PS Government policy will seal the mouths of Muslim pupils, Owen Jones.
According to the education secretary, Nicky Morgan, homophobia could be investigated as a sign of extremism. As a gay man, I want homophobia to be taken seriously, and think children should be educated about prejudice as early as is feasible. But negative views about LGBT people will not be confronted if children shut down any discussion out of fear of being labelled a potential terrorist. Morgan herself originally opposed and voted against equal marriage: could those much younger than her come under suspicion if they are Muslims?

ISIS: IS GAY!
The Daily Star's proof for this ISIS gay wing?
Someone claims to have seen a text message between two (2) men which they interpreted as 'intimate and homosexual' [Actually, just beyond “strong heterosexual bonding” - see below].

Though their small print fesses up and states;
Sources said that they had not seen a “broad theme” of gay relationships in extremist circles, however. MI5 employs psychological profilers and sources said it was “not clear that sexuality has a role to play in radicalisation”.
PS The ever baffling, ever shit, and ever thick Gay Star News managed to get from this to Young gay Muslims being forced to fight for ISIS! I give up!!
