Keith Vaz: K-K-Katie

We’re asking the wrong question about Keith Vaz, should he stay or should he go?

The real question is actually how tolerant are you?

In truth, we all love a grubby story. It’s the reason you can never get your hands on a copy of the tabloids at BBC Broadcasting House — liberal lefties can’t get enough of them.

We like it when other people are caught being dirty because we feel cleaner about our own lives. Someone else’s affair makes us feel smug in our marriage, horror frocks at the TV Choice Awards making our own wardrobe look pretty classy after all.

But being interesting does not make something in the public interest. Do we really need to know what Keith Vaz gets up to behind closed doors?

Hosting my radio show as the news broke, I said no.

I felt strangely distant from others around me who were titivated by the story, lapping up the gory details, one colleague gloating over this final demise after years of scandal.

It makes no sense coming from me, I know....

Mail Online.

You can say that again.

Even a stopped mad right-wing controversialist clock...

Obsessed much?

Orlando: Katie

How much longer can we continue to deny a fault line has been drawn? On one side Islam and Muslims defined by it, writes KATIE HOPKINS. On the other the LGBT community, defined by their right to love as they please.

Over the last two days, the deference of the liberal Left to Muslims over the LGBT community has been excruciating to watch. Unable to reconcile the two causes they champion, they have an awkward inconvenience they dare not face. An ex-wife at a wedding, acknowledged with an invitation, but sat at the back, facing the air-con unit. Predictably they have chosen Islam. And don't tell me the 'acts of a few extremists do not represent Islam', because I am sick of hearing it. Every time another Islamist takes down a club, knocks out an airport or wipes out the subway, we are supposed to embrace Muslims and spread the love.

Daily Mail.

Why did I read this?

Why!!??

Who's next to use us to go muslim bashing, Melanie Phillips?

Shakespeare: Only An Idiot

[A Midsummer Night's Dream] tells of four young loves, whose longing for each other is hampered by the meddling Puck, dispensing a love-potion at the direction of Oberon, the fairy king.

But forget all that. Thanks to the megalomania of Russell T Davies and the encouragement of our state broadcaster, the original play has been slung, unceremoniously out of the window of Broadcasting House.

Russell T Davies has reworked this comedy I love to include a number of same-sex relationships including a lesbian kiss, to show children 'the real world'

The ending Shakespeare wrote for our pleasure was a group wedding, with the lovers' reconciled, and married alongside Theseus and Hippolyta.

He said: 'It's such a happy ending and it's very male/female, male/female. I wanted to have a man with a man, a man who was dressed as a woman with a man, and a woman with a woman. Because its 2016, that's the world now. And I want children to come and watch this and see the real world in the middle of this fantasy.'

The magical wood - just wasn't magical enough... and the young lovers? Way too heterosexual.

That's the trouble with Shakespeare you see? He was just too straight.

400 years after his death, he needs to get with the times... or the the gay times at the very least.

Davies has reworked this comedy I love to include a number of same-sex relationships including a lesbian kiss, to show children 'the real world'.

Believe me, children see enough of the real world every day without needing it to be contrived into Shakespeare at night.

My kids have mates with two mums, two dads, step-siblings and families only loosely connected by finances. They are growing up into a world where unless you are gender fluid, you're old news.

Davies said 'it's 2016; that's the world now,' adding: 'Only idiots might have a problem with that.'

Katie Hopkins, Daily Mail.

That line again... IT'S 2016, ONLY IDIOTS MIGHT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT!

PS It's on 'at the end of May'.

British LGBT Awards: Winners & Losers

Christ on a tricycle, where do you even start?

Categories include; Corporate Rising Star, Corporate Straight Ally, Inspirational Role Model, Celebrity Straight Ally, Global Icon and Brand/Marketing Campaign!

Sponsors include the Royal Air Force and the Telegraph!

Their 'main beneficiary' is the Peter Tatchell Foundation - an odd choice as their (his) accounts show they have a substantial cash surplus.

Still, I'm sure Saint Peter will redistribute the money to the needy of the parish.

You may recall the star guest at last year's event was... Katie Hopkins!

And hey, Meet The Judging Panel!

It doesn't tell you how much it costs to book a table, but safe to assume it's several thousands.

To attend a lavish exercise in LGBT utter pointlessness!

Well, obviously it has a point - to make lots of money for Square Peg Media.

PS The Independent reports on people being somewhat flummoxed and/or pissed off by the likes of Zayn and Zoella - whose contribution to gay life is close to fuck-all - being shortlisted... the Z list?

Milo Watch: And?

I'm a gay man and Milo horrifies me.

'Let's bomb the fuckers into civilisation!'

PS This is close to a rewrite of The Sun Says' editorial; 'They hurl gay men to their deaths' etc, not that they care two figs about gayers usually. [Edit: As did the Telegraph twice, who also use it bash Jeremy Corbyn]. Funny that...

PPS And Katie Hopkins agrees! Coz '100% [of British Muslims] think homosexuality should be banned', apparently. Source, love?

She loves The Gays.

Hates everyone else, but boy does she love them gays!

Farage On Friday: Unacceptable Bigotry

There seems be a new modern phenomenon in British politics that no matter how nasty, there is no level of prejudice that is unacceptable as long as it is directed against UKIP.

Indeed, the party has been banned, outlawed in fact from attending the London Gay Pride Parade, which I was under the impression was about standing for tolerance rather than censorship and hate.

When a Baptist Minister who was a mere local UKIP town councillor in Henley said last January that floods were caused by gay marriage, it was a national story.

This man’s personal views ran on the BBC and pretty much everywhere else too as some sort of representation of UKIP as a whole.

This follows 20 years where he had been a member of the Conservative Party and had been saying the same things.

As a Conservative however, his comments never even touched the radar screen.

This gentleman’s individual views were used by the media purely as another justification to scapegoat UKIP as being somehow extreme.

Well, I’ve got some bad news for the metropolitan elite.

I’m very sorry not to confirm their prejudices, but UKIP has many gay members.

Clever wordplay! LGBTQ* In Ukip on Facebook!
We’ve just confirmed our new Deputy Mayor of Ramsgate who is transgender.

Our Scottish MEP David Coburn is openly gay.

The party also has an established LGBT group headed by Flo Lewis, who I shared a drink or two with after she spoke at UKIP’s South East Conference in Eastbourne just last weekend.

And yet, we have the case of Kellie Maloney who in the past stood as our London Mayoral candidate in 2004 and as a parliamentary candidate in 2010.

I was happy to meet with Kellie last year and indeed I invited her to come and speak at our Spring Conference in Margate.

Strangely, during the course of the General Election campaign, Kellie went on to give an interview to Sky News in which she said UKIP was a wasted vote.

Suddenly she was of the view that people should vote Conservative and not for the party whose conference she had just attended and spoken at.

I wondered why. Then I found out that Kellie came under a huge amount of pressure and indeed abuse from some in the LGBT community for her links with UKIP.

This seems to explain her subsequent actions.

This illustrates once again the wider attempt by segments of the media and the political class to incite hatred against UKIP.

I would go as far to say that the deliberate attempt to whip up animosity towards some of our members and candidates is one of the most disgusting elements of British politics today.

There remains bigotry and sometimes even racism against people in Britain today that is simply unacceptable.

Sadly, some of this is being suffered by ordinary decent folk simply for supporting UKIP.

The latest installment of Nigel's unmissable Daily Express column.

Can you see what he did there?

Check the reader comments below it to forever dispel the myth that Ukip is a right-wing nutter magnet.

The more Nige tries to qualify UKIP is not homophobic and racist the more ammunition he gives the leftie soap dodgers and gay mafia just ignore the unpatriotic bigoted Anglophobic traitors. etc etc.

PS Oooh look, and here's what Katie Hopkins thinks about this exciting debate! Oh, do wank off.

General Election 2015: Those Celebrity Gay Backers In Full

Conservatives: Christopher Biggins.

Only patron of LGBTory who's not an MP!

Though they can also count on Ivan Massow and David Starkey*, too!

What a right bunch of right-wing gay cunts, eh?

Lib Dems: Patrick Smugtwit?

Probably.

He is Britain's most boring wet liberal poove.

Green: Peter Tatchell.

And who better to dispel the myth that the Greens are all a bit nutty, than the publicity shy campaigning celeb?

Pete's probably said somewhere that he founded the Green Party, if not Planet Earth itself.

Bless.

Labour: Owen Jones.

No, really, he is. Trust me on this one.

SNP: Alan Cumming.

Was often wheeled out during the 'Yes!' campaign.

But like their most famous celeb supporter, Sean Connery, Mr Cumming is an ex-pat. Oops!

'England for the English...' etc etc.

Ukip: Morrissey.

"I nearly voted for Ukip. I like Nigel Farage a great deal," he told Loaded in 2013.

"His views are quite logical – especially where Europe is concerned."

And La Mozza's views are highly logical, too.

She loves England so much she's spent much of the last 20 years living abroad in tax exile, cos it's been flooded with foreigners, innit?

Silly old queen.

* Dr Starkey threatened to do a big queeny flounce and leave the country if Cameron didn't win the 2010 General Election. Paul O'Grady - a man Fagburn much admires - has said he'll leave if the Tories win again this time. It's usually the most unbearable right-wing shits who do this - I am unaware if anyone has actually carried it out.

PS If you decide how to vote because of something a famous person has said, may I implore you not to vote tomorrow?

Update: Undecided/Undeclared - Will Young. Former politics student Will Nice-But-Dim offered his astute analysis to Digital Spy; 'I don't know, it'll be a hung parliament and it all just feels like a wet fart.'

Stranger On The Bridge: Manufacturing A Twitterstorm

A self-styled 'gobby columnist' who gets paid a lot of many for saying outrageous and offensive things, has again said something outrageous and offensive, Gay Fagburn News can exclusively reveal.

Yesterday, in response to a documentary, Stranger On The Bridge, about a depressed gay man who a stranger had talked out of suicide, Katie Hopkins tweeted that she wished he'd jumped to his death.

Lots of people pointed out this was an unbelievably shitty thing to say. Ms Hopkins just cackled and counted her money, while thinking of a way to make light of the Holocaust.

Tweets Of The Day: Resign!

Who says online petitions are just silly exercises in vanity that have no effect?

I hope this small technicality won't stop Saint Peter taking full credit for this via his superpowers.

For the record, Fagburn doesn't agree with pressurising politicians to resign just cause they have obnoxious opinions, never mind calling in the cops.

PS The publicity-shy Tatchell seems to be suggesting he was the only person who confronted Katie Hopkins at the British LGBT Awards. He wasn't he was the only person who made sure there was a photographer on hand, told the gay media about it, and tweeted about his fearless act.

British LGBT Awards: Live From The Rainbow Coloured Bowels Of Hell!

Katie Hopkins arrived - then it proceeded to get even shitter.

Unsurprisingly none of the above turned up.

Though Fagburn understands Christopher Biggins was in da house!

Check the rapturous response to the totally legit* D-list shitfest that is the British LGBT Awards on Twitter.

These used to be the European/National Diversity Awards. The organisers are trying to get media to say it's 'the gay Oscars'. Only the clueless Katie Hopkins has fallen for this.

The first sponsor listed is the Royal Air Force - who could help carry out Katie's dream of shooting migrants in the Med.

* 'The independent judging panel will select the winners of the corporate categories, based on their shortlist submission.'

Update: Hilarious Mail photos of some of the non-celebs at the awards ceremony last night.

Update2: Organisers Square Peg Media denied Hopkins was an invited guest - but she was! [Via Pink News].

The Sun: It Was The Sun Wot Won It!

The Sun.
Why oh why are the Crown Prosecution Service spending millions of public money going after decent honest journalists in pursuit of the truth and letting establishment nonces off the hook!!??? etc etc.

PS: This piece by Katie Hopkins, I'd Use Gunships To Stop Migrants, hasn't gone down very well...

Cue inevitable/intended Twitterstorm - Do people not realise that controversy is the currency of columnists like Katie?

Hopkins, Dinsmore and Murdoch must be pissing themselves.

Sack her? Bet she got a pay rise.

Oh, and comparing this appalling attention-seeking article to the Nazi holocaust or the Rwandan genocide is a little bit OTT.

Update...

Sun On Sunday: You couldn't make it up etc etc.

Neil MacGregor: Night At The Museum

The art historian behind the landmark radio series A History Of The World In 100 Objects has announced he is to step down as director of the British Museum.

Neil MacGregor, whose role in the 2010 BBC radio series made him a household name, will leave on 15 December to take on new projects.

In his 13 years at the helm of the British Museum he has overseen a near 50% increase in visitor numbers, making it the second-most visited museum in the world after the Louvre in Paris.

MacGregor, 68, said on Wednesday that his decision to leave the museum had been a difficult one. He said: “Working with this collection and above all with the colleagues here has been the greatest privilege of my professional life. But I’ve decided that now is the time to retire from full-time employment and the end of this year seems a good time to go.” ...

The British cultural Homintern is losing its grip.

PS How Neil MacGregor reinvented and revived the world's greatest museum, a fittingly glowing tribute in The Times. Edit: And in this Independent editorial, Neil MacGregor's exemplary tenure at the British Museum is an object lesson in curatorship. A giant of Britain's cultural life, The Guardian. Neil MacGregor made running the British Museum look easy, Telegraph.

Hopefully Katie Hopkins will pop up soon and say he was a disgusting old perv - for balance, like.

Update: My Hero: Neil MacGregor by Grayson Perry, Guardian.

Eltongate: It's War! Angry Celebrities Say NO!

Mail Online.
Call me a crazed wizened anarchist, but I do not give a flying fuck what other people do when it doesn't affect me.

And as a crazed wizened anarchist, I don't get that agitated about people expressing silly antedeluvian obnoxious unorthodox views.

Do what thou wilt.

Katie Hopkins: Patronising, Much?

Oh FFS!
Fagburn was a judge on G-A-Y Porn Idol twice. The first time he managed to shoo-in the words 'Noam Chomsky' in every other comment he made, the second time he was sick on stage - a feat later repeated by that copycat wannabe Amy Winehouse.

Celebrity Big Brother: Meet Perez Hilton

Mirror.
Always good to be reminded why I don't own a TV.

I wonder what crazy campy bitchy hi-jinx he'll be getting up to.

Well, obviously I don't really give a flying buttfuck.

All this and Katie Hopkins, too!
