  1. I prefer Gore Vidal's concept of people being like lemmings - we see the precipise ahead - yet we still follow the same course.

  2. Isn't all labour futile and hopeless, in the end.
    Someone mows their lawn, prunes their bushes and pulls up weeds and so on, tends their flowers, etc - in the full knowledge that nature will always win and they'll have to go through the same futile and hopeless routine every week or so.
    That's hardly punishment.
    Tis life, no?

    And why should there have to be a point?
    That road leads to religion -> there must be a point, ie. God, heaven etc...

    CHAOS is nature and the constant work, ultimately futile and pointless as it is, is about survival and so on...

    I have a degree in bollocks, you know.
