"He’s very plutonian in the sense that he’s wealthy and also in the
sense that he’s sexually deviant. Gayness
is built into Batman. I’m not using gay in the pejorative sense, but
Batman is very, very gay. There’s just no denying it. Obviously as a
fictional character he’s intended to be heterosexual, but the basis of
the whole concept is utterly gay.
"I think that’s why people like it.
All these women fancy him and they all wear fetish clothes and jump
around rooftops to get to him. He doesn’t care - he’s more interested
in hanging out with the old guy and the kid."
Grant Morrison, who "rebooted" Batman in 2006 (apparently, I'm reading this), in a Playboy interview.
According to Playboy, he's "the most important comic book writer working today".
According to Morrison; “The creators of superheroes were all freaks. People forget
that—they were all outcasts, on the margins of society... We’re people
who don’t fit into normal society.”
Fagburn has absolutely no idea if Mr Morrison is also very, very gay.
Mainly cause I've only just heard of him, and I'm very, very tired.

Grant Morrison is one of the biggest and most famous comic writers in your actual comics and has been for a long time - so what he says carries some weight, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about him, though. Pretty sure he isn't gay (he is married to a person of opposing gender, but then so was Dale Winton werent'e?) - I know he is or was a Fall fan, so he is - officially - a cool dude.
Sorry, I don't know how to contact you other than through your comment form. Have you seen this (sorry it's not about Tom Daley!): http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/9232269/Gay-marriage-Pope-representatives-calls-for-Catholic-alliance-with-Muslim-and-Jewish-groups.html
ReplyDeleteMany thanks.
