Fagburn: I Don't Know

When asked a question Jean Genet often said; "I don't know."
"I don't know all the facts."
"I haven't really thought about that enough to formulate an opinion."
"I don't care."
I don't know.

    But all opinions are equally 'valid' and are to be 'respected', so no-one should be reluctant to have an opinion about anything at all.

      Surely an informed opinion is more valid than an uninformed one?
      I always liked John Waters' quote: 'My policy is "unless you know the full story, don't judge", and you never know the full story."'

      Oh dear, I failed to disguise my irony; though the single scare-quotes were a clue, not to mention the over-the-topness of "about anything at all".

    But why not just say you haven't really thought about it and so it's probably best not to comment.
    Like that HS2 rail thing - I LITERALLY have no opinion on it.
