Fagburn: Happy Birthday

Gramsci used to get bullied at school, cause of his height and his hunchback.

"Until one day I threw stones back - I felt exalted!"

Surely that means to continue to affect change in the ways that you can, rather than giving in?

"If you beat your head against the wall, it is your head that breaks and not the wall."
Pretty much the same thing. Try not to get so bogged down by the relentless shit all around us that you can't change overnight (banging your head against a wall) - what you do is enough. Bit by bit, things change (I believe)...

  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Gramsci spent his time trolling unsung activists and counsellors trying to grapple with a scary health crisis affecting some of the most marginalised and alienated people in society. And he didn't shut his eyes, stick his fingers in his ears and scream "fuck you all, I'm not listening" when confronted with evidence and personal testimony. Sorry honey, but you comparing yourself to Gramsci is like Dan Quayle comparing himself to John F Kennedy.

I just think he may have some points.
