Surprisingly, out of the UK papers, only The Guardian has gone big with the NSSHB - "the most comprehensive survey of American sex lives in 20 years".
It's given the cover and a four page feature in G2; Let's Talk About Sex.
It also gets a naughty teaser on the front page of the newspaper proper; 'Hot Stuff - How to have sex like an American'.
The article doesn't actually tell you that, unless stating that 45% of women aged 25-29 have had anal sex is meant to be taken as a call to action.
Jon Henley's Guardian piece is highly recommended - my favourite factoid?
50% of men aged 50-59 said they had been blown by another man.
[Edit: This is a mistake in The Guardian piece - the figure given is 15%]
Oh, and 7% defined of all people themselves as "other than heterosexual".
Which is quite a bit more than 1.5%, isn't it?
Jon Henley also quotes one of Fagburn's all-time favourite lines on sex.
"There is hardly anyone whose sexual life, if it were broadcast, would not fill the world at large with surprise and horror" - W Somerset Maugham.
I know mine would.
Anyway, you can read and download the full NSSHB report in a special edition of the Journal of Sexual Medicine here.
More on this later...
