Orlando: Slaughtered

The top of Mail Online's 'front page'.

Mail Online has a very different editorial outlook than the crappy reactionary print version.

PS And in the afternoon...

Mail Online: A Rare Moment Of Candour

Mail Online.

Oops! I appear to have accidentally cropped this headline a little too short.

The story is about a new MORI poll where people vastly overestimated the numbers of the unemployed, teenage pregnancies, Muslims and immigrants in the UK.

Can't imagine where people get these funny ideas from...

Mail Online: From The Message Boards

A bingo-style homework project in which pupils are asked to look out for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters and references in TV shows has been developed by education experts.

The game, proposed by the Sex Education Forum, encourages children as young as 11 to analyse how same-sex relationships are portrayed by the media.

It involves a card with 12 squares to be crossed off, for example if a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender character is shown during an episode of any show...

Daily Mail.

Let's see what the Mail Online readers have to say...

And you wander why they leave school unable to read and write.

WHY?

Political correctness gone mad.

Can't read and write, but fever mind. More important things to do.

Oh for Goodness sake! I am truly blessed to not have any children. I would hate to bring them up in such a world!!

Mail Online: Heavy Lifting

Mail Online 'exclusive,' June 6th - a re-run of GT's interview
Mail Online's whole strategy is based on reproducing the work of every other media organisation in order to ensure that it becomes a one-stop shop for surfers.

To that end, its staff are required to scour every newspaper, magazine and website in order to copy off articles.

They do obey certain rules. The original source is credited fairly high up and most often there is also a hyperlink.

As far as Mail Online's editorial overlord, Martin Clarke, is concerned that covers him legally and ethically. He therefore rejects accusations of theft and of breaching copyright...

Several Mail Onliners have told me they hate doing it. ("I didn't come into journalism to rip off other journalists," one told me). But he, in company with others, pointed out that jobs are exceedingly hard to come by (and they are still paid more than most local and regional reporters and subs).

So they are, to an extent, being exploited in order to perform a task that exploits the work of other journalists. There, in a nutshell, is the nature of this shoddy enterprise.

Meanwhile, Mail Online thrives because it gets the clicks from people who are utterly disinterested in how it gathers its content. They merely consume it...

PS Don't write in and say this is basically what Fagburn does, like here for example.

Mail Online: From The Message Boards

Smells can influence our views - and a particularly pungent one can increase our conservatism and even change our views on same sex marriage, it has been claimed.

In a new study, titled 'Disgust and the Politics of Sex,' researchers say that an odour really can change our mind - and even change our religious views.

The team tested a range of view on people both with and without exposing them to noxious fumes.

'Disgust has been implicated as a potential causal agent underlying socio-political attitudes and behaviors,' the University of Arkansas team wrote in the journal PLOS One.

'The present study tested the effects of disgust on a range of policy preferences to clarify whether disgust is generally implicated in political conservatism across public policy attitudes or is uniquely related to specific content domains.'

The team say their unusual research proved the theory.

'The study showed that exposure to a disgusting odor increased endorsement of socially conservative attitudes related to sexuality,' they wrote.

'In particular, there was a strong and consistent link between induced disgust and less support for gay marriage.'

Mail Online.

Amusing, but only 57 people took part in this study, so it's absolute junk science.

But I think you may have guessed that.

I think most people are intelligent enough to make decisions on major issues such as the acceptance or otherwise of homosexuality, Biblical truth etc without needing to be influenced by SMELLS. Then again, I detect a fishy odour here...was this study backed by the Gay Lobby perchance?

The stench of liberals, post-modernists and the EU can all have this effect on people.

Where do they put the butter?

Stupid article, and homosexuals are homosexual not gay.

We associate bad smells w unwashed (we live in America...no excuse for no daily shower) and uncaring, uneducated folk. It's human nature. If we feel the majority of the unwashed and uneducated r from minority which votes liberal for the free handouts, there you go. And conservatives tend to be educated and employed. Two reasons we keep our bodies, our children, our home, our yard clean and well kempt. People do this to themselves then holler "victim" or "discrimination."

Huh. And here I thought that stinky smell sending people running to conservatism was Obama

Let me get the straight; the more you like smelly things, the more gay you are?

A Liberal is nothing more that a Conservative who hasn't gotten mugged yet! As you get older you realize that people suck!

I'm conservative, and I've never been mugged. My sense of right and wrong comes from God and His word, not what I smelled that day.

Really? I always thought it was my intelligence that made me conservative.

Mail Online: From The Message Boards

A new Tumblr called Boyfriend Twin is gaining attention for featuring photos of gay couples in which the men look nearly identical - so much so that they could even be related.

The site bears the tagline ‘Because what’s sexier than dating yourself?’ and was started by an anonymous blogger who wants to drum up conversation about attraction, narcissisim, and sexuality.

Couples submit their own photos to the site for consideration, and as the blog’s founder told SF Gate: ‘Some of the photo submissions have been so twincestuous that I’ve had to email back just to verify that the people in the photo are not actually related.’

He added: ‘I’m happy that the Tumblr page has begun a conversation about attraction, narcissism and exhibitionism and personally, I enjoy seeing all the proud and handsome gay couples willing to share their relationship with the world.’

Many couples submit photos of themselves in matching outfits, including a couple in a green gingham shirt and boat shoes, and another in white cargo shorts and V-neck black T-shirts.

All of the couples are featured on the site anonymously.

Mail Online have finally found about this BOYFRIENDTWIN Tumblr which has been doing the virtual rounds for a week or so.

Not exactly sure why the Mail have run it, but it's certainly made their readers happy...

Disturbing * Ugh that's really kinda sick * Creepy. * kind of creepy * creepy * Wow. Who knew? Mail Online: From The Message Boards

Even the Mail is excited about all The Gays getting married!

Mail Online readers not so keen. :(

Like mass immigration we never voted for it, its been imposed on people without their agreement and anybody who dares to object is labelled homophobic. At some stage like immigration people will come out of the closet and voice their concerns.

Just because something is legal does not make it right.

I find that this is an example of the minority gaining the backing of the law and the majority is being ignored. We are now becoming a country that every one has human rights as long as you are not in the majority, while I say that your business you can do as you wish, please be aware the law is on your side, but I still have a right to have an opinion. Not unless someone is allowed to start the Fourth Reich.

Yet another victory for a minority over the unasked majority.Dare to raise a voice to object and be labelled homophobic,a term as derogatory as any used to describe homosexuals,so much for equality.

I'm moving to Russia.

It's not really a marriage. It's just PC nonsense. There is already civil partnerships so why this? I'm cancelling my membership of religion.

Florists must be coining it!

Considering the over-population sterile unions are probably to be celebrated.

BBC: Free Speech

The BBC was accused of censorship on Thursday after its BBC3 debate show Free Speech dropped a question about being Muslim and gay at the request of the mosque where it was being filmed.

The live show, hosted by Rick Edwards and featuring a panel including government minister and Lib Dem peer Susan Kramer, broadcast a pre-recorded question by Asifa Lahore, self-described as Britain's "first and only gay Muslim drag queen" who asked: "One question I would like to ask the Muslim community is, when will it be right to be Muslim and gay?" ...

In a statement, a spokesman for the programme said: "BBC3's Free Speech is determined to discuss the issues that matter to its viewers. However, out of respect to the Birmingham Central Mosque, who hosted the programme on Wednesday 12th March, the decision was made to delay the debate on Muslim gay rights to a future programme.

The Guardian.

An absolute classic masterpiece of meta ironic fuckwittery.

Well done the BBC, another winner! etc etc.

PS The Daily Mail and the usual racist gay journalists will love this. 'Imagine if they said that about muslims! Err hang on...' etc etc.

Update: Or is it?

Update2: THIS HAS MADE MAIL ONLINE READERS' BRAINS EXPLODE!!!

Grayson Perry: Can You Tell What It Is Yet?

To the Baftas...
Some fools may thinks it's about rewarding excellence in British TV, but Mail Online know its real meaning, and treated readers to endless photos of famous fillies in fabulous frocks on the red carpet.
They even found room for one fella, Grayson Perry, who is pictured in the above stunning number.
"A long dress with a nude panel running right down the middle."
Uh-huh...

Grayson came away with an award for his documentary series, All In The Best Possible Taste. Brava!

Daily Mail: Faking It

It's a favourite trick/tactic for those with obnoxious right-wing views to try to portray others with obnoxious right-wing views as the real and really nasty extremists.
Witness how the Mail have hyped up this story.
Nigel Farage has had his photo taken shaken hands with an UKIP local election candidate who "liked" an EDL page on Facebook.
Gosh. Whodathunkit?
And a Ukip candidate in the local elections has posted some homophobic comments online.*
Golly gosh!
If you want to damn Ukip, why flip your wig over comments made by one of their almost insignificant and mostly unelectable 1,700 local election candidates - they're so desperate for these they'd let a horse stand - when you only have to point out the party's declared policies?
And if you want to see some pro-EDL or pro-Ukip and anti-gay comments posted online, why not just check the readers' comments sections on Mail Online?

* This sort of story is much-loved by the more politically wanky and dubious sections of the gay media, of course.
"Waah! A bad man called me a nasty name!"
Here's the post by Ukip candidate John Sullivan on sports and homosexuality that many seem to be excited by (Click to enlarge etc), though most just think it's ridiculous and laughable.
If people are getting angry about this daft old bugger (sic) - as some gaybores are on Twitter, inevitably - then I fear for the politic of this country.

Stirling Moss: Some Of My Best Friends Are Poofters

"I hope the actor would be masculine, not a poofter or anything like that. Perhaps the guy from Skyfall?"

Stirling Moss - "veteran driving ace" - on who'd play him in the (non-existent) movie, quoted in the Mail Online.
I don't like to bring age into this, I hope to be old myself one day, but all reports I've seen have stressed Mr Moss is 83.
Is this meant to make it okay?
Or is it a sign of senile dementia?
Stirling was last in the news when he was hospitalised after falling three storeys when he tried to get in a "lift" that wasn't there.
Rather brilliantly, when contacted by Mail Online, Stirling kept on digging...

"Certainly I've got very many friends who are of the different persuasion; I just wouldn't want to be that way and I'm glad I'm not.
"They are not going to make a film about me in any case but if they did, I think someone who's masculine would be better than someone who's effeminate, because I've spent my whole life chasing crumpet and racing cars.
"That's what I was all about - going around the world and spreading happiness. It wouldn't obviously work if I was played by that lovely chap Kenneth Williams who played upon being poofy.
"I'm sorry I've caused offence, but I didn't mean to cause any. I personally am very grateful to homosexuals because the more of them there are around, the more women are free for me."

Veteran driving comedy GOLD!

PS The Mail now has a dedicated message board thread on this titled... 'Poofter' Row.
It's every bit as glorious as you imagine.
