Emmanuel Macron: La Vie En Rose?

French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron has dismissed lurid online rumours that he had a gay affair.

Mr Macron, a 39-year-old married to his former high-school teacher who is 20 years his senior, told supporters his wife Brigitte "shares my whole life".

Any reports of a double life were not about him but his "hologram", he joked.

The claims emerged on a Russian-owned website as the centrist nudged ahead of a key rival in polls, less than three months before the presidential vote.

Addressing a rally in Paris on Monday, Mr Macron said the claims of a secret life were "first and foremost unpleasant for Brigitte".

"She shares my whole life from morning till night and she wonders how I could physically do it!" he said.

"If in dinner-party chatter, or in forwarded emails, you're told that I have a double life," he added, "it's my hologram that suddenly escaped, but it can't be me!"

The joke was a reference to far-left candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon, who launched his presidential campaign in Lyon on Sunday - and appeared at a Paris rally simultaneously thanks to a 3D hologram....

BBC News.

Depressingly the National Front's Marine Le Pen's deputy Florian Philpott is deffo a gay.

Apparently, Macron is currently the front runner.

Burkini Ban: Pah!

Peter Brookes, The Times.
France, je vous aime, mais maintenant je te déteste. L'Etat n'a pas le droit de dire aux gens quoi porter. Liberté? Égalité? Fraternité? Je crache sur vous. Je sors. Au revoir!

Salah Abdeslam: Who Is It?

Someone said they thought they saw him in a gay bar - case closed!

Shockingly piss-poor excuse for 'journalism' even by the low standards of the shaved baboon babies who write for The Independent.

PS Fagburn really hopes he is a gayer, btw. The world needs more gay terrorists.

The Sun: Boobies!

Mum rents out boobs to gay couples' babies

A MUM is ’renting out’ her breasts to male couples who are now allowed to adopt babies under France’s gay marriage laws.
The 29-year-old nurse is offering her £85-a day breast-feeding service on a small-ads website, describing herself as a "mother in full health".
The controversial business venture comes after France legalised same sex marriage in May.
The ad by Cecilia232, from the Paris suburb of Boulogne, has appeared on the e-loue website, which uses the slogan, "With e-loue, everything is up for rent".
Her post reads: “I am a young mother in full health, a trained nurse, 29 years old and I’m renting out my breasts to feed young babies. In one day I can offer you up to a dozen feeds for your baby.
“Gay men in couples are not able to breastfeed their babies. Breastfeeding allows babies to be in good health. Basically, breast milk gives them complete nutrition.
“Contact me through the site. Serious enquiries only.”

The Sun. - just possibly because they're more interested in breasts than the travails of gay parenting.
Apparently it's all true.

Mariage Des Meurtriers: C'est Des Conneries!

Two gay convicted killers have married each other in prison – with notorious terrorist Carlos the Jackal as their witness.
Serial killer Alfredo Stranieri and Germain Gaiffe – who beheaded a man – married inside the high-security prison at Poissy, near Paris.
Gaiffe, 45, wore a white wedding dress but was ordered to change into men’s clothing. Guests included Carlos the Jackal after the couple asked him to be their witness.
Wednesday’s civil ceremony is believed to be the first gay wedding in prison since France passed a same-sex marriage law two months ago.
Controversial comedian Dieudonne M’bala was the other witness, despite speaking out against gay marriage.
He was also asked to change out of a white wedding dress. Mr M’bala said: ‘This is the France of tomorrow.’

Daily Mail.

Okay, so an extremely right-wing anti-gay French comedian says this and you believe him?
And he overcame his hatred of gay marriage to witness this momentous event?
Do you not think it might be a hoax/joke?
Clue's in the word "comedian".
And "anti-gay".
Two grisly gay killers get gaymarried?
The most hated gay men in France, you mean?
Uh-huh.
And Carlos The Jackal was witness - they let him out of Clairvaux maximum security prison for the day then?
Okay.
You couldn't make it up!

PS Pink News fell for this, perhaps unsurprisingly.

Letter Of The Week: The Independent

The Independent.

Yes dear, I'm sure the happy couple sent out personal invites to all the world's media, and they didn't turn up just because it was a teensy little bit news-worthy.
Thank god straight people don't turn their weddings into some silly media circus, eh?
What a boring little (gay) man you sound.

PS Why is it that whenever you read a variation on that dread phrase, "As a gay man..." - a favourite of the Mail's inhouse Uncle Tom Andrew Pierce - you know your heart's about to sink to your sphincter?

PPS And - oh look! - an "unprecedented alliance" of 52 religious loons have written to the Telegraph today to say they don't like gay marriage. Yowsah!

Gay Marriage: The Root Cause Of Anarchy

Perhaps a (double) first today as the Daily Express celebrates France's first gay marriage with a photo of two fellas kissing!
But are the readers happy?
ARE THEY BUGGERY!

"It is right those in same-gender relationships are no longer victims of over-zealous law enforcement and blackmail; but are we ready for this in-your-face homo-eroticism, and desecration holy matrimony??? Politicians have become willing puppets in thumbing their noses at what is decent and respectable; and they are becoming bolder in their contempt. It is high time we started identifying the root causes of this anarchy" - Ekimwar.

Vous ne pourriez pas le faire jusqu'à etc etc.

Update: 'France is marching against markets, not homosexuality' - Financial Times. Worth reading, but concludes with l'anicinne "it's an out-of-touch political elite" line.

France: Gay Marriage Law Marked With Pictures Of Fruity Young Lesbians

The Independent.
And The Guardian.
The Sun.
The Daily Telegraph.
Financial Times.
And BBC News.
And Huffington Post...

I could go on, but I think you get the picture.

PS Comment of the day comes from the Daily Express message boards; "Its no good saying being homosexual is 'normal' when it clearly is not. Its about as normal as having cancer."
So think on, homosexuals, think on.

Update: See also the Daily Star's breathless report, Topless Women In Homophobia Protest. Phwoar!

Hommen: Shirtless French Dudes In Masks Handcuff Themselves Together To Protest AGAINST The Gays!

Paris has a new group of semi-naked activists roaming its streets, going by the name of Hommen. Set up in response to the notorious feminist organisation Femen, the bare-chested male members of Hommen are an emerging force in the anti- gay marriage movement...

Hommen staged its biggest protest so far outside Paris’ busy Saint-Lazare train station on Tuesday evening. A group of shirtless, masked men waved the tricolour and chanted outside the major rail hub in the French capital, to both applause and booing from passersby.

Their torsos painted with messages such as “Freedom”, “Protect Kids”, and “Free Speech”, some chanted “Democracy!” while others were symbolically gagged by a suited man bearing a François Hollande mask.

“At our first event, there were 20 of us. On [Tuesday April 3rd] at Saint-Lazare, there were 30,” said Henri. “Our goal is to oppose gay marriage. The French people have expressed themselves with historic demonstrations against it, and the government’s only response has been violence,” he said, referring to the use of tear gas at protestors during a rally in the capital last month...

TheLocal.com, Paris

I have no idea if this is a joke or not - I'm happy either way, to be honest.

Le France: Mariage Pour Tous Ou Seulement Pour Vous?

When campaigners opposed to new laws allowing gay marriage in France wanted to take out a full-page advertisement in Le Monde, executives at the French establishment daily were happy to accept the much needed revenue. Now they are being denounced as idiots, not only by their owner but also by France’s First Lady.
Pierre Bergé, the gay-rights activist who is chairman of Le Monde’s board of directors, was so livid when he saw the advertisement that he fired off a series of Twitter messages that had managers quaking in their shoes.
It got even worse for senior staff at the newspaper when Valérie Trierweiler, President Hollande’s partner, relayed Mr Bergé’s furious messages in what was taken as an expression of support for him from the Elysée Palace.
The row comes with Mr Hollande’s Bill authorising same-sex couples to marry and to adopt children being debated in the French Senate amid fierce opposition from Roman Catholic and conservative groups.
Manif Pour Tous (A Demo for All), the main opposition campaign group — whose name is a reference to the Government’s Bill, Marriage for All — took an advertisement in Le Monde on Wednesday. In a message to senators, it said: “The Marriage for All Bill and the outcome of this moral, social and political crisis is in your hands. We are counting on your democratic wisdom.”

The Times.

Fagburn se demande si Rupert Murdoch, Richard Desmond, Viscount Rothermere, ou les frères Barclay serait même outragée?
Bien sûr que non - les vieux salauds!

PS Mais aussi, 'Larousse, the authoritative French dictionary, has infuriated Right-wing MPs after it altered its definition of marriage to a union of "two persons" rather than "between man and woman". Sacré bleu.

BBC News: Paris Match

Dear Mr Smith
Reference CAS-1871451-TCP4WD
Thanks for your correspondence regarding BBC Radio 4’s News Bulletin at 21:00 broadcast on 14 January 2013.
We understand that you’re unhappy because you felt was too much news coverage of the anti-gay marriage protest in Paris, and not enough coverage of the march in Paris last month in favour of gay marriage.
The BBC has an obligation to be impartial, independent and accurate.
Choosing the stories to include in our bulletins; the order in which they appear and the length of time devoted to them is a subjective matter and one which we know not every listener will feel we get right every time.
Factors such as whether it is news that has just come in and needs immediate coverage, how unusual the story is and how much national interest there is in the subject matter will all play a part in deciding the level of coverage and where it falls within a bulletin.
We'd like to assure you that your feedback has been registered on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's made available to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, Radio 4 news editors, channel controllers and other senior managers.
The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.
Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.
Kind Regards
Michael Cheung
BBC Complaints

Here's the reply to a complaint I made to the BBC the other week.
There was a pro-gay marriage march in Paris yesterday - numbers are estimated at between 125,000-400,000.*
BBC Radio 4 News did mention it on the 9pm news - albeit very briefly, and informing listeners the anti-march was much bigger.
Unless my ears blinked, the item had been dropped by the 10pm news bulletin.
It did not make the BBC1 10 O'clock News, nor the front page of BBC News Online - though the anti-gay one was thought so important it was the third story.
There is a short video hidden away on the BBC website - note it claims "tens of thousands" demonstrated, though states with precision "340,000 people" were on the anti one.
Please let me know if you saw this broadcast on BBC News 24.

* Reuters: "Police estimated total attendance at about 125,000, while organizers put the number at 400,000".
Estimating numbers on a large march is a notoriously inexact science.
A police officer once told me they usually guesstimate it by the time it takes to move from point A to point B.
You could get a more accurate figure by studying aerial photographs, if they exist.

BBC News: Sunday Quiz Fun Time

This > - 'Paris rally against gay marriage' - is currently the third story on the BBC News website - and the third or fourth on BBC News.

When was the last time the BBC gave so much coverage to a march about social policy in another country?

If your answer is 'Never', press the red button now.

PS In December, 60,00-150,000 people marched in Paris in support of gay marriage.
And the BBC's coverage was...
Think only The Guardian online even mentioned it.
Here's how to complain to the BBC.
