Actor Bill Roache will tackle the light-hearted storyline after being cleared of sex charges earlier this year.
It will see Ken’s step-daughter Tracy wind him up that his legendary womanising days are finally over.
Ken’s absence from the ITV drama has been explained as a long trip visiting family in Canada.
When he makes his return viewers will see him face acid-tongued Tracy – played by Kate Ford, 36.
In his first scenes, Ken tells his family: “While I’ve been away I’ve had the time to do a lot of thinking, and I’ve become a...”
And before he gets a chance to finish, Tracy raises her main suspicion: “What, that you’re a homosexual?”
Shocked Ken puts her right and says: “No – a vegetarian.”
