Gay Star News: Scoop

It seems wrong to keep singling out Gay Star News just because they have come to symbolise all the very worst aspects of the gay news media.
It would also be cruel - like picking on the stupidest, ugliest, and most unpopular kid in school.
And, moreover, life is literally too short to even begin to catalogue all their endless banalities and idiocies.
But today this story caught my bloodshot eye.
Mainly because it so neatly encapsulates how incompetent and hopeless they are.

Global court to consider arresting author of Uganda 'KIll the Gays' bill
The International Criminal Court may arrest a Uganda MP who put forward the bill, a tabloid newspaper who called on the public to 'hang' gay people, and a pastor who shows gay porn to stir up hatrd [sic]

GSN clearly thought this was big news.
Very big news.
It's their lead story.
They tweeted the gay great and the good - Stephen Fry, Peter Tatchell, AllOut etc - excitedly asking them to help spread the word.
So what's the story?
Someone has written a letter to the ICC, and the ICC has acknowledged they have received it - as a matter of course.
Wow.
Factoring in their ignorance about what the ICC actually is and does, what comes within its jurisdiction, and its current stand-off with many African states, one has to ask why a publication so politically illiterate, naive and monumentally thick feels able to write about gay news?
Please, I beg of you, Gay Star News, for the sake of the movement, for the sake of our brains, for the sake of human progress, close down, you're a bloody tragedy.
