With such debates those reporting often get their knowledge of the Church from what they learned in their C of E primary school, religion in the contemporary United States and the varying assumptions people make about every facet of English society.

Unfortunately we tend to forget any notion of human cost, when we argue over such issues. You may profoundly disagree with such views, but you cannot so easily dismiss the people affected.
Sorry this was meant to be a rant against craptire. Must try again harder next time.
