Gerald Howarth MP: "Some Of My Best Friends Are..."

“Some of my best friends are in civil partnerships, which is fine, but I think it would be a step too far to suggest that this is marriage. I take the view that marriage can only be between a man and a woman. That is what Christian marriage is about.”

Quoted in the Telegraph; "He insisted that granting homosexual marriage rights was a matter of 'conscience' and that MPs should be given a free vote."

One may assume the Telegraph has been ringing round since Cameron gave his speech on Wednesday desperately trying to find some Tory MPs to say; "Down with this sort of thing!
Looks like the only other they could find is one Peter Bone MP.
He said he was "disappointed" by this “political correctness”.
I'm terribly sorry, but who the fuck are you exactly?

    Roger Helmer MEP wrote something about it when it was first announced. The lack of even basic logical coherence is staggering:

    "The Coalition government, apparently with the personal support of the Prime Minister, wants to introduce a bill to allow same-sex marriage. I think it is wrong. … [But] I don’t approach this as a question of morality."
