    Why do the police waste our money on these ridiculous investigations instead of telling these over sensitive souls to get lost? And shouldn't a cop understand that the police have better things to do? Like investigating real victims of gay hate crime who have suffered abuse or violence directed at them personally.

      The police 'have a duty' to investigate any 'crime', no matter if it sounds like nonsense...

      Oh come off it. Several times I have had the "do you really want this recorded as a crime" and "there's little chance of catching the offender" chat.
