At last! David Furnish has spoken out for gay marriage.
To be honest, I was never quite sure which side Mr Furnish was going to be on until
now.
Yes, it is a "civil rights battle", and you, David, you are our
Martin Luther King.
I can see the entire population of the world literally being swept along by the sheer power of your awesome rhetoric.
We might as well all go home now, boys - this baby's in the bag.
PS 'A gay music festival set to be headlined by SIR ELTON JOHN in London
this summer has been called off...' Daily Express. Apart from the fact that Pride House wasn't a music festival and Elton John wasn't going to headline, it's hard to fault this story.

Music Reviews: With Karl Lagerfeld
"I prefer Adele and Florence Welch [to Lana Del Ray]. But as a modern singer she is not bad.
“The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.
“Lana Del Rey is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful. Is she a construct with all her implants?”
Karl Lagerfeld talking to Metro, who asked him to be "global guest editor".
Clearly a man every bit as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside...

George Michael: Doing It For The Kids
"The other project is a dance album. I hope it will be universal in its appeal but it will be very directly gay in its lyrical content because as a gay man who has been living out – in public – for about 15 years, I feel it’s about time I put my life into my work the way that I’ve always said that I do. And I do – I’ve just tended to write about my relationships, but gay relationships are really not that different – falling in love is falling in love, being heartbroken is being heartbroken...
"It’s about dance, sex, fun – that’s what a lot of being gay is now – but the gay community has become so apolitical, it’s so not sexy to be an activist. It’s considered ‘spoiling the party.’ We’ve become this a-politicised community, which has so much to complain about still. The album is not about ‘Stop the homophobia’ – it’s about making people understand how damaging stereotyping can be. Stereotyping is not necessarily homophobic, it just stuff that doesn’t occur to straight people. It’s the same kind of stuff that wouldn’t occur to me about straight people’s life because I don’t have children. I’m addressing gay people in gay terms, and a lot of people will be shocked and won’t like it. A lot of gay kids will love it, I hope. But it’s all honest and I have the best intentions. I have to make these statements in gay terminology, to gay people, with lots of club remixes and sex and, hopefully, some humour."
George Michael, interviewed by Canada's Metro.
15 years after Older, George gives us Grindr - The Album.
Can't wait.
Let's hope this isn't yet another of George's projects he's too stoned to actually finish.

Pride London: Over '6 Billion' Attend!
'Million' take part in London's Pride celebrations - BBC News.Rugby World Cup winner Ben Cohen was among the one million people who took part in Saturday's Pride London gay rights parade - Metro.
Organisers of the Gay Pride revels expected a million people to join yesterday's event under the theme Carnival of Love - The Independent.
And so on and so on in over 30 publications.
Or should that be in over 30 million publications.
What kind of a record-breaking fucktard would you have to be to believe that a million people attended Pride London?
FFS!
Surprisingly The Pink Paper admitted; "Tens of thousands of people turned out for London Pride."
In the interest of balance Fagburn has illustrated this blogpost with a photo of a protest held by Christian nutters, which as you can clearly see numbered over 5,000 (not including fish and loaves).

EastEnders: Again!? Oh FFS!!!
The Daily Mail is positively fucking fuming today!!!'EastEnders sparks uproar with gay bedroom scene before the watershed'
How very peculiar that the Mail failed to notice this "uproar" when the scene was broadcast a fortnight ago.
The Mail also failed to notice the "audience backlash" when a message putting the dampeners on this supposed "backlash" was posted on the BBC Complaints website last week.
I guess the Mail only noticed this non-story after a record-breakingly stupid piece was published by The Guardian online on Sunday;
'The EastEnders furore shows gay equality is still a long way off'
But there was no furore - before this pointless piece was published by The Guardian, only the freesheet Metro had bothered to write about it.
But anyway, do go on...
"At least 125 viewers complained that a scene featuring the characters Christian Clarke and Syed Masood was inappropriate for the show’s pre-watershed slot.
"The pair were lying in bed together, with no tops on, and bedclothes pulled up to their chests. The two characters, who are trying to adopt and are planning a civil ceremony, also shared a brief kiss..."
And how has the Mail chosen to illustrate this?
With two screengrabs showing the pair lying in bed together, with no tops on, and bedclothes pulled up to their chests, one of which - above - shows them sharing a brief kiss.
Oh dear...
The Mail also quotes freely from the nutter magnet that is the BBC's messageboards;
"I’m not a homophobe but really do not want to see gay men in bed naked and kissing, especially whilst my ten-year-old daughter is sitting with me, before the watershed. Might be socially acceptable to some but there is a time and place and definitely not before nine o’clock, confusing my kids. There was no warning."
Well said, nutter!
How ironic that the most headbangingly annoying non-story since the Mail's made-up story about a "pre-watershed gay kiss ban" involves a twisted non-story that ultimately rests on the BBC trying to patiently explain that there is and will be no pre-watershed gay kiss ban.
FFS!
Update: And then the Mail's story gets regurgitated in today's Evening Standard; 'BBC defends EastEnders gay scene after receiving 125 complaints' AARGGHH!!!!!!!!
Update 2: And finally... at 1.40pm Tuesday, this is puked up yet again with the same homophobic spin as the Mail story it's lifted from by the useless Jessica Geen at Pink News. Resign!
Update 3; The Daily Star noticed the "TELLY FANS FURY" on Wednesday.

Lady Gaga: Her Own Private IDAHO Metro
Exciting news! Lady Gaga has "edited" a special issue of London freesheet Metro today - it's International Day Against Homosexuality, by the way.
Tragically Fagburn's not sure yet what she's done with it - as he doesn't get the tube in London - and Metro's website's rubbish.
But just for you, Fagburn is currently trying to navigate a way round this problem.
Not sure how the good Lady feels about the whole homophobia thing, but let's hope she's against it.
Update: The international Metro newspaper series Lady Gaga edited at their London HQ yesterday have got fuck all to do with the London Metro mentioned above - I apologise unreservedly.
Though I note London Metro today has splashed Gaga across the front page, presumably hoping others will make the same mistake.
Here's the New York edition of the Metro Lady Gaga edited.
I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive my colossal fuckwittery.
Please accept my sincerest hypocrisy.

Press Briefing: We're Making The News
And in other news today - yes there is some - there's some stuff about The Gays and the news in the news.A gay bloke has asked another gay bloke to marry him via the front-page of London's Metro!
I thought he sounded a bit flash and creepy when I heard, but apparently he won a competition where the prize was a Metro cover to do what thou wilt with so that's not quite so bad, I suppose.
And if it made some bigot's commute a bit more miserable this morning then it's all good with me.
Apparently, the other gay bloke has said yes.
No, I'm not really bothered either, but in a spirit of fraternal solidarity I hope it all works out better for them than it does for those other two people who've announced their engagement today.
Sir Elton of John will be guest editing a special edition of The Independent (and i!) for World Aids Day!
Bono did this in 2006 and it was predictably pretty wanky, but Fagburn is pressing the pause-button on his cynicism for this one.
When Mr John has contributed to newspapers in the past he's often shown an admirable internationalist perspective, he does get angry about stuff that people should be angry about, and he does have an interesting set of close-personal-showbiz-friends to call on for the other stuff.
Elton also knows some goons like Rush Limbaugh and Eminem, but let's hope for the best.
The Independent claims; "He is said to have already begun planning the special edition of The Independent."
I should ruddy hope so too, he's only got a fortnight.
And finally... just for once Pink News has an item of news that you won't have already read somewhere else ages ago!
"Wanted: A staff writer for PinkNews.co.uk"
Pink News used to be edited/written by Tony Grew - probably the best news journalist the British gay press has ever had.
It is currently edited/written by Jessica Geen - who's hopeless and clueless.
Fagburn sincerely hopes Pink News choose a new Grew this time.
