London Pride: Proud To Support Mass Killing By Ariel Bombing

The RAF Red Arrows Display Team flies over London's Pride Parade...

The Daily Telegraph's photo of the month!

Yay! We're morons! Let's wave a rainbow flag!

Pride: Killing Corbyn

The Guardian.
A couple of days earlier, in common with other corporate news media, the BBC pushed a manufactured story about Corbyn being heckled at Gay Pride. The staged incident was also given significant coverage on ITN and Sky News, and even front-page treatment in the Guardian. In fact, as Craig Murray observed, the 'heckler' turned out to be Tom Mauchline who works for the public relations firm Portland Communications. Mauchline had also previously worked on the Liz Kendall campaign for the Labour leadership. Portland's 'strategic counsel' is the notorious Alastair Campbell, Blair's former media chief who helped to sell the illegal invasion-occupation of Iraq. None of this was spelled out in the Guardian report by Heather Stewart, the paper's political editor. Instead, there was a single cryptic line that concealed more than it delivered:

'Allies of the Labour leader said the confrontation at Pride had been staged by anti-Corbyn activists who were attempting to undermine the leader's position'.

There was no further explanation or context. When challenged on Twitter, Stewart responded:

'Story makes clear it was regarded as staged by Corbyn backers; but if part of plot to destabilise him it's news.'

This was a facile reply. Craig Murray himself then asked her:

'1) why does it not make clear that Mauchline is a PR man for Portland Comms? 2) How did you become aware of the story?'

As far as we can see, the Guardian's political editor simply ignored the awkward questions.

Pride London: Yeah, It's a Good Job No-One's Getting Hysterical

Mirror.

Pride London is called Pride London not London Pride as my mate Simon registered 'London Pride' as a domain name for the Lolz, on account of their thickitude by by not registering it. :)

He was subsequently sacked from Millivres ever diminishing gay porn empire.

As indeed we all were.

Please feel free to make wanker signs at any jolly coppers on parade, like at that Notting Hill Carnival.

They is so down with them gays and blacks!

When they're not shooting the blacks.

Gay Pride: It's Da Bomb!

Benjamin Butterworth in The Independent.

This article brilliantly manages to encapsulate everything about why the world of gay is currently completely fucking fuckity fucked.

Why not have a float full of some of the countless Iraqi babies the RAF has killed?

For balance, like.

Gay Pride!

PS I imagine launching the Red Arrows for this pointless episode in sick militaristic winky-wankery could be close to six figures - can you think of any LGBT groups who could use that money more usefully?

Pride London: Ban This Filth!

Pink News.

Why ban anyone else when Pride London is now run by gay tories?

Pink News also has an obsession with Ukip, maybe to pretend they're not that right-wing.

Demonise the extremes, to butress the centre-right staus quo...

Pride: How So?

Gay Star News.
Why shouldn't they?

The gay right likes to demonise Ukip, as if to prove they themselves are not right-wing.

'Theys donut like teh gaymarriage!'

Like it's the worst of their racist cunty platform.

And the pointless manically depressive funfest London Pride - like Gay Star News - is bankrolled by the far worse Barclays; big time convicted corporate crooks and arms dealers.

Why do you expect them to be moral agents or some compass of ideological purity?

#FreedomTo: Use Visual Clichés

As a red double decker bus passes in front of Big Ben, a gaily coloured rainbow breaks in the sky over olde London town as one of our proud corporate sponsors aeroplanes zooms by. No longer able to contain their excitement, fireworks ensue...

Mary Poppins and Dick Van Dyke having a good old-fashioned gay cockney knees-up not pictured.

PS How many people do they think actually want to read an interview with Sinitta FFS?

#Freedomto: Spend Spend Spend!

Apparently Barclays has just put this up in central London for Pride.
Woop!
Could there be a more fitting visual metaphor for what Pride has become?
All cash, no point?
Note that if a casual passerby wasn't told, they probably wouldn't have the foggiest what this is for.
It just looks like typical banal 'feel good' adspeak but with brighter colours.
'Barclays Bank' is rhyming slang for 'wank', you know?

PS Barclays - nice people to do (gay) business with, or corporate crooks?

Buy at Pride with pride - brought to you by Barclaycard.

Barclays observers might think that slashing jobs or preserving sky-high pay have been two standout themes of the Jenkins era so far. But behind the reinvention of Barclays to suit a tougher regulatory regime that will see a severe slimming-down of its trading activities there has also been a concerted effort to redraw its culture. Chief among that is treating customers better and making money in a responsible way — cue sniggers after its latest fine, for £26 million, when one of Barclays’ traders was discovered attempting to fix the price of gold.

While Jenkins forecasts it could take five to 10 years to restore the reputation of the bank, its reputation as a diverse employer has already won plaudits, not least from campaigning group Stonewall. Barclays’ Spectrum network for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) staff has 3,000 members. The bank ran the British finance industry’s first transgender-awareness event at its Canary Wharf base, as well as becoming the first UK bank to feature a same-sex couple in one of its adverts...

London's Standard interview with Barclays' CEO Antony Jenkins on 'why the bank is the headline sponsor of Pride in London'. So fawning and uncritical it could have run in Gay Star News.

#Freedomto: Be Banal

'I know! We could try and start a hashtag. With people taking selfies! That's what the youngsters like, isn't it?'

'Great idea, Jeremy, let's go.'

'It'll go viral.'

'Like herpes.'

'Err...'

'Who do you think will turn up to the launch?'

'Top of my head? Peter Tatchell, Angela Eagle and Louie Spence - they're pathological self-publicists who go to any old gay shit.'

'Terrific!'

Oh do piss off, you unimaginative grinning fools.

Only the hapless 'we love the gays' The Independent could find this newsworthy.

Pride London: #Fatuoushashtag

Protest relies on spectacle: the titillation of Seventies bra-burners, the Guy Fawkes masks worn by the Occupy movement, the naked breasts of Femen activists. But where once the street was the stage, now the platform is online: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are the new streets, and hearts, retweets and likes the new roars of approval.

The spectacle has also adapted to the visual, online medium: holding up a board is the new way to big up the cause...

So it's come to this... nothingness.

Welcome to the society of the gay spectacle.

Gay pride!

FFS.

Thanks to Gavin Brown. x

Pride: Gay Lies Of Our Time!

Fagburn has no doubts that there were 2.5 million people there.
Absolutely heavens to Betsy not!
If the organisers said it, then it must be true.
Heaven forfend that a journalist might question something and be capable of rational thought!
Just like the organisers of Pride London claimed a million people turned up.
Then scaled it down to 25,000.
And the organisers of Brighton Pride claimed a whopping 150,000 people attend.
Only for it to be proven that 25,000 people attended.
Why, a cynic might think some people have a vested interest in inflating these figures!
And might think most journalists are dumb.

London Pride: A Statement From Peter Tatchell

A huge thank you to the tens of thousands of people who came out to support me at London Pride today.
It couldn't have happened without me you.
I don't normally like to talk about myself, but this meant a lot - to me.
Anyway, here's a photo of me I've sent to the media.
Please publish.

PS I bet President Putin will think again after seeing these crappy placards.

Pride London: Fury As Tory Joke Makes Gay Joke

Buffoon Boris Johnson sparked fury at a gay rights event by making a crude joke about same-sex marriage.
Angry guests walked out in disgust after the Tory toff said during his speech: “I’m delighted that as of this autumn any young man will be able to take his chum up the Arsenal... and marry him.”
The London Mayor’s offensive gaffe was slammed by MPs last night as “crass and tasteless”.
Labour MP Chris Bryant said the joke “would be funny from Julian Clary or Christopher Biggins, but from Boris it just sounded nasty and brutish”.
The gag – a reference to plans to legalise same-sex marriage in England and Wales – provoked jeers and some nervous laughter at the Pride of London gala dinner.

Daily Mirror.

Obviously, come the revolution this cunt will be first against the wall, but how dull and divorced from reality would you have to be to get angry about a crap gag about bumsex?
Leading lesbore, Angela Eagle MP, told the Mirror; “His crass and tasteless remarks only serve to undermine all the hard work and progress made by the gay community.”
Uh-huh...

According to Pink News, Mr Johnson actually said "Up the Areclor".

Mr Johnson jokingly suggested in his speech that they should get married at “the absolutely beautiful ArcelorMittal Orbit.”
He then added to much laughter: “It will be the perfect ceremony, you can take your partner up the …[Arcelor]. I think I can get away with that...”
"The ArcelorMittal Orbit, the structure that towers over the London 2012 Olympics Park will reopen this autumn and will be licensed for weddings and civil partnerships."

Thanks for clearing that up.

PS Gay Star News - never one to avoid turning the most fatuous press release into a story - reports on the London diner selling burgers in a rainbow bun for pride! Astounding.

São Paulo Pride: As Billions Cheer!

A record-breaking one billion people have attended this year's São Paulo pride carnival in Brazil.
Fagburn is, of course, exaggerating - but that seems to be par for the parade these day.
As is the supposedly sheer number of people going becoming an annual news event.
BBC News - and others - put the number at one million.
According to the ever laughable Gay Star News it was "millions".
[Edit: According to Pink News, numbers may have peaked "at over 4 million" in 2011!]
This is thought to be the tenth year running when São Paulo pride has had its attendance figures ludicrously over-inflated - a wonderful ad for the tourism industry, and - I'll hazard a guess here - all the better to get corporate sponsorship.
But making up numbers only a fool would believe is now a gay pride tradition.
In London organisers used to say a million people attended - though this, curiously, was downgraded to 25,000 last year.
An internal document by Brighton Pride - the gay capital of the UK, no less - showed that though official figures given in 2010 were put at 150,000, only about 25,000 people may have attended.
So who still believes any of this crapola?
And who gains?
¡Ay, caramba!
And that's your actual Portuguese.

Bradley Manning: Blow Your Whistle!

This Wednesday, the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee announced that openly gay Army whistleblower PFC Bradley Manning will be honored as a grand marshal for the largest gathering of LGBT (lesbian gay bisexual transgender) people and allies in the United States. SF Pride describes its grand marshals as “individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community.”

A group of past grand marshals selected PFC Manning as this year’s sole honoree, bestowing one of the LGBT community’s highest accolades on the soldier who helped reveal unpunished war crimes, the Pentagon’s link to Iraqi torture (as publicized in a recent UK Guardian documentary), and other disturbing and previously secret foreign policies.

Responding to the announcement, Bradley Manning Support Network Steering Committee representative Rainey Reitman stated,

The LGBT community is unique in that being a member requires a willingness to disclose the truth about ourselves to the benefit of those around us and society as a whole. As a longstanding Manning supporter, I’m thrilled to see our community publicly embrace his courage in disclosing classified truths about the war in Iraq and other facts which empower the American public to promote smarter future policy.

PFC Manning, awaiting trial for three years behind bars, cannot attend the Pride celebration in-person.  However, Pentagon Papers’ whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg will attend in his stead, and hundreds are expected to march in support of PFC Manning in the parade...

From Bradley Manning Support Network.

Well done SF Pride for honouring a gay man who's awaiting trial - and possible life imprisonment - for blowing the whistle on US war crimes.
And who did Pride London honour last year... unconvicted American war criminal Hillary Clinton!
Wonder who they'll honour this year?

Update: Queerty headline; Bradley Manning Named San Francisco Pride Grand Marshal, Group Protests.
That's right - some gay men in the US military have put out a press release saying they're servants of power - better put that in the headline.
Your balanced gay media at work!

Pride London: Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens

What went wrong with the funding of World Pride London and what lessons are there for the Mayor’s future support of large scale community events?
World Pride London should have been an international celebration of the gay, lesbian and transgender community in the capital.
However, despite the free use of Trafalgar Square and up to £100,000 of funding from the Mayor from London, just 10 days before the event Pride organisers announced they were short of cash.
This led to the significant scaling back of the parade and planned entertainment.  As a result participation in the procession was estimated at between 5,000 and 25,000 rather than attendances of 800,000 recorded in previous years.
Our Greater London Authority Oversight Committee is conducting a review of the funding of World Pride London and the impact scaling back the event has had.
As part of its investigation, the Committee will look at:
  • How and why the decision was taken to scale back the event;
  • The role of the Mayor in supporting World Pride London;
  • The role of London and Partners in supporting Pride and the impact on London’s reputation of its scaling-back; and
  • The Mayor’s objectives for future support for London Pride and what lessons can be learnt for any other large-scale community events.
If you or your organisation would like to contribute views or information to this review please contact Richard Derecki at richard.derecki@london.gov.uk by 1 November at the latest.

GLA website.
If you contact Richard Derecki you may want to point out Pride London has been hijacked for the last 15 years by posh idiots who fed the media a laughable lie that a million people had attended the last ones.
And they held a parade/march - basically again, hijacked - by way of example, an advert for a crap corporate firm so crap they can order their slave-wage staff to dress up as giant factory-fed chickens and humiliate themselves on a Saturday - with a bunch of crap PAs on a small stage after.
And this would cost how much exactly?
Any guesses where all the money went?

Pride London: Israel's Shame

Makes a nice change from the Israeli government trying to hijack an international Pride event for crude propaganda purposes.
Or them sending gay journalists on freebie holidays to Tel Aviv Pride for the same.
The above video was brought to you by the newly-formed NoPinkWashingUK.
Their website provides much information and resources about and/or against Israeli Pinkwashing.

Nigel Evans MP: Never Trust A Picture Editor

Great choice of photo in the Mail Online to illustrate a piece by the deputy speaker, Tory MP Nigel Evans, on why he went on Pride London yesterday - where he clearly got a very warm welcome - and the reaction to him coming out in 2010 (in the Mail On Sunday!)

PS According to The Sun only 5,000 people marched - but they would say that wouldn't they?

Pride London: Going Down

Good to see some realism appearing to have descended upon organisers of Pride London who have said 25,000 people went on yesterday's march.
Will they now retract the ludicrous claim that a million people attended last year - a claim obediently repeated uncontested in many media.
Curiously Pride's website said yesterday's 25,000 was "the biggest turnout ever"?
Eh?
You'd have to go back to the mid-Eighties to find an official figure for a London Pride that small.
So was it the biggest ever, the smallest in a generation, a typo, or just the most honest estimate?

PS How Brighton Pride admitted to over-estimating attendance by perhaps as much as six times...

PPS Only three national newspapers reviewed Pride today, The Daily Mirror, The Guardian/Observer Online and The Independent On Sunday (The Mail ran the personal piece in the above post).

• Photo of "Aggressive and intolerant 'Queer Resistance' activists' from Christian Voice's hilarious Pride review; "The parade featured drag queens, people with their backsides on show, men in what we understand is ‘bondage gear’, sexually-charged costumes, the hostility of Stonewall and Queer Resistance, under-age participants and people whose tee-shirts said: ‘I’ll bet you’re thinking about sex’.
"It was an in-your-face offensive onslaught of aggression, intolerance, depravity and division designed to intimidate and assault the mind."

WorldPride: Where Are We Going?

Some people meet at one place in London.
Then they march/parade to another place.
It does take a spectacular level of fuckwittery to fuck this up.
Well done PrideLondon!
