Grindr: The Hours

Guardian.
Could have stopped that after the first four words.

AMIRIGHT!!???

I don't, though.

Cause I don't have a smart phone.

Or a sex drive tbh.

Nothing's piqued my interest or ire today so I'm going to the beach.
x

PS Queerty are doing a poll asking readers' how many hours a day they spend on 'hook-up apps'. Where do they get their ideas from? Oh, and their re-design really is quite awful.

Queerty: Reddit And Wept

Why does Queerty keep posting these rocking horse crap stories from Reddit?

Note how their readers point out they're clearly bolox.

Gay Media: So White

A five point plan from Queerty.

No reader comments yet, but I guess a few might say something about people who work in glass offices etc.

#gaymediasowhite is now 'a thing' on Twitter.

Incidentally here's the latest issue of Attitude.

And The Advocate.

So everything is alright now.

Queerty: Holes

Queerty has gone back to running the most ludicrous stories they can find on Reddit.

Both these stories - 'heart-warming', 'adorable' sentimental vomit, natch - have more holes in them than a can of spaghetti hoops.

I'm really not sure if the journalists are completely thick, will run any old nonsense to fill a space. or if they have nothing but contempt for their readers.

Probably a bit of all three, eh?

Further proof that the only 'qualifications' you really need to be a gay journalist are to be easily pleased and easily deceived.

PS See also Gullible Star News.

Queerty: Reddit And Wept

Worst Nightmare and Pouch Problems
Queerty has lifted both these stories from Reddit; a site where anyone can post any old nonsense.

Though possible, neither sounds remotely plausible - for reasons, once again, it is left to their less gullible readers to point out.

Gay journalism?

Beats workin'!

Queerty: Writing Rubbish For a Living

Straight guys, finding a bro-job has never been easier thanks to BRO, a social networking app that caters to heteroflexible dudes seeking bromances… and other things.

“BRO goes beyond using labels, and is for men that are interested in meeting other men,” the description reads. “It’s as simple as that. Just sign up, and start looking for new bros!”

The app allows users to search for potential bros, chat, mark their favorites, and even “Fistbump” one another...

Jane Ward, whose bestselling [sic!] book Not Gay: Sex Between Straight White Men caused a media frenzy [sic!!] last summer, says BRO further supports her theory that straight-identifying men engage in homosexual behaviors a lot more often than people might think...

Aww, Queerty got another press release from someone trying to sell a nonsensical book!*

Jane Ward is a complete fucking fraud.

But yeah, that's right boys, all straight men are really secretly gagging for it.

Why let dull old facts get in the way of your fantasy?

(Wonder if this will last as long as the Every Girl Needs A Gay app)

PS When Fagburn started it was partly inspired by the way Queerty could talk about (gay) politics in a funny, non-boring way, now it's just too crass for words.

* She did email the US gay media about this, offering interviews to push her silly book!

Reddit On Queerty: Filler Queens

Anyone else thrilled by Queerty's new way of filling space - trawling Reddit for gay-related problems, and inviting readers to respond?

Gay journalism - beats working!

PS As they're on Reddit it's hard to know if they're true or made-up, but when's that ever been a problem for the pink press?

Hoax Watch: Frat Boy Dim

Queerty.

Yet another 'anti-gay incident' that turned out to be a hoax!

Fagburn's losing track of them.

Even the gulliblicious Queerty's started getting sceptical when reporting them.

Queerty: Suckers

This is stunning in its mendacity, audacity and cluelessness.

Queerty gloss over the fact that they originally ran this without questioning it.

It was left to several of their readers to point out that there were several gaping holes in her sob story.

There is something seriously wrong when this happens, as it does repeatedly.

Just as there is when the gay media can only pick up a story after it's run by a non-gay source.

When this becomes standard you have to wonder what is the point of a gay press.

Even if the bizarre 'relentlessly gay' note from a neighbour was real, why was her first course of action to ask complete strangers for money?

All gay media I saw proved similarly credulous, thus failing Fagburn's first law of journalism...

Always ask is this true?

But they hardly ever do.

If you are literally incapable of even thinking this - if you aspire to nothing beyond being yet another rainbow-coloured fart machine - then maybe it's time to close down your laptop for good?

PS Here's Fagburn's original post on why this story should have set alarm bells ringing. Edit: And another 'cry homophobia' hoax breaks; Utah man carves 'Die Fag' into his own arm, reports hate crime, fesses up. You couldn't make it up! Except he did

Queerty: Laughable

Keep trying to click on this Queerty story, but to no avail...

Oh, maybe that's cause they ran a story as fact they nicked off the rather obviously satirical site NewsNerd, and then deleted it?

“The nasty things they say about me online are nothing but bullying plain and simple,” Jones stated. “I cannot believe they allow anyone to post these vial things online. No one knows my story or what I have gone through. They talked about my voice, my appearance, and even tried to deny my deliverance. They can say what they want, but I am redeemed and my bowtie is cute. My pride and self-worth have been shattered into a million pieces, and each one of those pieces deserve $50.”

Oops!

Randal Kleiser: The Penis Chronicles

The subtitle is “Every Man’s Journey.” There’s a song for the play that opens and closes it and the lyrics are “every man’s journey begins with a cry” and then “every man’s journey ends with a sigh,” which is when you die. We have characters ranging from a 16-year-old who’s being teased in the showers at the gym because he hasn’t gone through puberty and has a tiny dick and is using a penis pump to try to grow up. There’s a farm boy alone on the farm coming out and revealing how hard it is. There’s a guy who got HIV from his girlfriend and a male prostitute who was a Wall Street banker who decided it was more interesting to do that work. There’s a drag queen who uses money from tricks to send her little brother to summer camp. There’s just all kinds of drama and interesting stuff. There’s a thread running through it. They’re all connected in some way...

Randal Kleiser interview on Queerty.

Wish they'd do more of this sort of thing, and less pink fluff.

The legendary Randy has directed the play The Penis Chronicles on West Hollywood.

He also directed three of Fagburn's favourite films; Grease, Blue Lagoon and Pee-Wee's Big Top.

Here he talks about their appeal to gay men - though tbh, I can't see it myself.

Club Promo Of The Week: Dreck

Nightclub promoters in Tel Aviv have come under fire for mocking the ISIS beheadings of David Haines, James Foley and Steven Sotloff to advertise a gay night.

One advert shows a muscular man kneeling in an orange toga with a man in a revealing black wrap behind him with a hand on his neck.

It is an image strikingly familiar to those that have circulated around the world of an anonymous English-speaking Islamist wielding a knife before going on to behead the innocent hostages in three separate shock videos.

Another shows a man in tight trunks holding a black flag aloft – traditionally a symbol of jihadist extremists.

The adverts were posted to the Facebook page of Dreck – which runs gay club nights across the Israeli city...

Daily Mirror.

Although this was only an online ad for a Tel Aviv gay night, such is the current climate of media hysteria over all things ISIS/IZAL/Islamic State, on Monday this became a story that went GLOBAL!

Stay classy, boys, stay classy!

Fagburn loved Queerty's billiant juxtaposition of this DISTURBING SEXUALISATION OF TERRORISM, and some photos of some sexy dudes from the Israeli Defence Force posing in their pants with their rifles in Occupied Palestine!

Coz Zionist terrorists iz hot!

Gay Travel: Come To Tel Aviv - Cuz IDF Hotties!

'Everyone there seemed really nice actually... I think the three year mandatory army service for citizens does wonders on all their bodies.'
After destroying the morality of America with her hilarious and catchy songs, the ever-delicious Willam has set her sights on The Holy Land of Israel, where she made a few appearances in Tel Aviv and marched in the Tel Aviv Pride parade.

Fortunately, she took a moment out of her busy jet-set schedule and graced us with some highlights of why she thinks Tel Aviv, the center of LGBT life in the Middle East, is such a spectacular place...

• Everyone there seemed really nice actually. They like to talk and are 100 percent cool with LGBT folks. Totally Westernized in that sense.

• The men are beyond compare. I think the three year mandatory army service for citizens does wonders on all their bodies.

Queerty - these are but edited racist Orientalist state power fetishising highlights.

One of three puff pieces on Tel Aviv they ran last week.

Gay media trips to 'the Holy Land of Israel' are paid for by the Israeli government, incidentally.

The Gay Gene: Born This Way?

An estimated 3 per cent of the population are lesbian or gay. Is it genetic – a biological 'accident of birth' predetermined in the womb – or could it be a choice? In other words, is sexual preference a social construction, or are we simply born that way?

With the gay rights agenda still very much in the news this question lies at the heart of the current debate. Join us as we explore these questions with our panel, chaired by Guardian writer Kira Cochrane and hear both sides of an issue that continues to polarise opinion.

The Guardian.

In answer to your question.

Nobody has the foggiest idea.
Anyone who claims they know is a liar.
Perhaps human understanding will never reach the point where we can answer this question.
People - gay or anti-gay - often just choose the option they feel most comforting.
This is an amusing parlour game, no more, no less.
No rational person would think it should have any impact on how gay people are treated.
Thanks for asking.

Panelists include Julie Bindel and Peter Tatchell - don't all rush at once.

Surprised they didn't ask that intellectual titan, Lady Gaga.

Why I'm glad I have the gay gene, Theo Merz, Telegraph, June 11th...

Haters, as is their wont, continue to hate, saying that if homosexuality is genetic, it’s nothing more than a birth defect. They add that if a gene can be isolated, removing it becomes easier. At the other end of the spectrum, among my London-based, 20-something gay and straight friends, the reaction is largely: who cares? Why this obsession with cracking a possibly non-existent gay code? As the actress Cynthia Nixon, who is married to a woman, commented on an earlier study, “It doesn’t matter if we flew here or we swam here, it matters that we are here”.

But while, as they’d say on the BBC, other gay opinions are available, I find the idea of a biological basis for my homosexuality extremely comforting. For me, the fact that we were born this way remains a convenient truth to fall back on in moments of self-doubt.

See? Told you.

Note the excited squeal with which Queerty reported the latest research...

And note the unwittingly ironic sub-header, 'Blinded with science'.
