Fagburn is genuinely sad to hear that Time Out is losing its gay listings section.
Silly decision, but that's the mad world of magazine publishing for you.
End of an era.
Won't say any more cause even if you heap praise on Paul Burston he takes it as a great insult.
The bigger the ego, the more fragile they are.
But thanks anyway, it was quite useful.

ReplyDeleteOh, it's tough being mainstream.
I remember when it was started by Michael Griffiths who gave the show La Cage Aux Folles a fantastic review whilst the main magazine was less enthusiastic. Sad day.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to think who else has edited it. Think it was Troy before Paul Burston...
DeleteYes, I think MG was originally approached because for many years he was the face and voice of Time Out, then in Covent Garden. Don't remember Troy, but certainly Burstow was the longest editor I think.
