Paul Flowers: Exclusive!

Shamed bank boss Reverend Paul Flowers is planning a new life with a strict sect in the US.

The sex and drugs scandal minister is set to flee Britain and live in a community of ultra-traditional Christians called the Mennonites who ride around in horse-drawn carriages and are often compared with the Amish.

Former Co-op Bank chairman Rev Flowers, 63, dubbed the Crystal Methodist, told church elders that once the police inquiry into drug allegations is completed he will accept the US group’s invitation to join them.

“Paul just wants to get away from the UK,” a source revealed. “When the dust has settled he will go abroad. He feels he will never be able to continue with his ministry with this hanging over him.

“He thinks this opportunity will give him the perfect chance to get back his God away from the limelight.

“The Mennonites are very religious and have a strong moral code and will expect him to behave himself.

“They will not tolerate a lifestyle of drugs and sex but they are prepared to forgive him his previous sins and open their community up to him.”

Flowers is keen to escape the scandal which has engulfed him and damaged the trust of parishioners who worship at two churches he runs in Bradford, West Yorks...

Evidence = none.
Wouldn't be surprised if he does want to get out of this stupid country, though.

PS The Daily Mail adds some spice to this non-story; "He has also been engulfed in allegations of gay sex..."
The horror! The horror!
