Right, I'm off to Worthing to see Ken Dodd.
A lifetime's ambition fulfilled.
I know I said this last Saturday, but that was before I checked the date on the ticket.
Yes, he will be singing some songs.
Happiness is probably my favourite ever record.
And yes, I know he can carry on gagging for hours - can't wait.
The last train's at 11.59pm and there are nightbuses to Brighton.
I'm going up early to go charity shopping.
Then I have an hour or two "window" where I will go on a pilgrimage to Oscar Wilde's summer house on The Esplanade.
This better be good, Mr Dodd.
I need some cheering up.

"And yes, I know he can carry on gagging for hours..."
ReplyDeleteI've heard he goes on for days.
It turns from an end-of-the-pier comedy show into some kind of existential, Beckettian endurance test. With songs...
Hope you enjoy it, Fagburn x
Have to say I think it's odd that an aesthete like Oscar Wilde would chose to stay in a rather non-descript 1960s tower block.
