8: Live At The Witch Trials
You can watch a very special reading of 8 - Dustin Lance Black's play about California's Prop 8 trial - live on YouTube tomorrow night.
Isn't technology great!?
The rather stellar cast includes George Clooney, Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch, Brad Pitt, and Martin Sheen.
It's on at 7.30pm US Pacific time - which I think is 3.30 on Sunday morning in the UK.
But best to check that - I'm hopeless at math/s.
Here's the link and director Rob Reiner bigging it up.
Or you could watch it here and read all about it, too.
It's entirely a matter for you.

Glee: Smashing

I loved this cover so much
and thought it was such a great sign of the times
I got one sent from America.
I spent ages looking for the right frame.
Found this amazing faux antique one
Just trod on it and smashed it.
Luckily it wasn't real glass
and came from Poundland.

Glee Watch: My High School Boyfriend Was Prom Queen
'Dancing With The Stars: Partying With The Boys of Glee at Prom'
inviting its readers to imagine dressing up for a prom date with one of the adorable boys from Glee.
But one of the boys is noticable by his absence - Chris Colfer.
Why? Cause he's a gayer!!?
Get real Teen Vogue.
As the photos on the new Tumblr My High School Boyfriend Was Gay show, loads of American girls take a gay boy as their prom date...

Glee: Spoiler Alert!!!
"So homosexuals = 1% of the US population, but are somehow part of 90% of tv/movie plotlines. Are there any tv series left that don't have a character identified as homosexual? Why aren't the Eskimos and American Indians in alllll the plotlines? They have no representation at all despite making up the same percentage of population. Are the writers anti-Eski? Or just really determined that homosexuality should be the all-consuming central focus of society?"MWeather, Daily Mail reader and statistician.
From the comments section after the Mail's story about Glee's Kurt and Blaine's first kiss.
The Mail headline; 'At Last! Glee's Kurt finally shares a kiss with his crush Blaine'
It must be TORTURE writing for The Daily Mail these days.
Not knowing whether to write for the readers that like/love The Gays or pander to the homophobic prejudices of the others.
Maybe they could have asked the Christian Institute how disgusted they are at a so-called family newspaper printing this filth?
Of the first 25 readers' comments posted today, only three are from gaybashers.
One was a variation on an old classic; "Not a TV show goes by these days without a gay story in it. It seem they want to promote this lifestyle to our young generation as early as possible. We must wonder, why?"
Most were just angry that the Mail hadn't run a Spoiler Alert as this episode won't air in the UK for several weeks.
Fagburn's favourite comment; "Well, he's not getting to stay at my B&B now..."

Glee: Straight Acting Gay (Not Bi)
Glee creator Ryan Murphy, in a short statement sent to Perez Hilton.
Murphy was responding to a blind item on Hilton's blog suggesting Blaine would become bisexual - which went viral over the weekend.
Perez Hilton was presumably reading a little too much into a comment made by Ryan Murphy in a profile of actor Darren Criss in the latest issue of Out magazine.
"It’s my job as showrunner to keep them apart as long as possible," says Ryan Murphy. "Blaine will openly question whether bisexuality is real. I think that some people will love that discussion and some will not love it."
He’s even coy about whether they’ll get together at all. "When that moment comes - if it comes, says Murphy, "I want to treat that relationship like we treat all the other relationships on the show. I want it to be as flawed and as exposed as everyone else’s."
The delicious Mr Criss took a well-earned break from looking sultry and sweaty in Out's fashion photoshoot to add to the current debate about gay acting straight and vice versa;
"I think it’s more empowering to everybody, including myself, if I’m articulate about identifying myself as a straight male playing a gay character. Ultimately, that’s more powerful for both communities."

Gay Teens: The Revolution Is Being Televised
Entertainment Weekly gives over its cover story to 'Gay Teens On TV - How a bold new class of young gay characters on shows like Glee is changing hearts and minds & Hollywood'"Gay teens are suddenly popping up in major roles all over television, with Glee’s popular pairing of Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) leading the way.
"How did gay teens go from marginalized outcasts and goofy sidekicks to some of the highest profile — and most beloved — characters on the likes of 90210, Pretty Little Liars, and Skins? And more importantly, how is this affecting real-life teens still facing the daily high-school realities of bullying, discrimination, and ignorance?
"The new issue of Entertainment Weekly investigates the history of gay teens on TV — from the angsty Rickie on My So-Called Life to sensitive-soul Jack on Dawson’s Creek to the slew of groundbreaking characters on Degrassi. We talk to the producers who fought for such progress, the actors who held the career-defining roles, and the activists who cheer recent advances — but are still pushing for more..."
This very subject inspired the first ever post on Fagburn in April last year, First Post, Last Betty, incidentally.
I don't think anything else shows so clearly the profound cultural shift that we are witnessing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; Fagburn looks forward to the day when we'll look back at this and wonder what all the fuss was about.
And isn't that EW cover shot of Kurt and Blaine just adorable?

Chris Colfer: Doing It For The Kids
Chris Colfer dedicates his Golden Globe Award to the kids; "Most importantly to all the amazing kids that watch our show, the kids that our show celebrates too, who are constantly told 'no' by the people in their environments, by bullies in their school, that they can't be who they are or have what they want because of who they are. Well, screw that, kids!"
Adorable.

Glee Vs Ugly Betty: TV's Gay Teen Queens Bitch War!
“I just don’t understand why the gay character is portrayed as the weak link — or the person who can’t stand up for themselves... I think every gay character on TV —whether it be a boy or a girl, or even somebody questioning their sexuality — I would like to see them portrayed as stronger and more independent, not as squeamish.”
Adorable!
Mark does point out that Justin didn't actually come out until the penultimate episode of Ugly Betty's run.

Out 100: Out Demons Out!
A royal wedding in the offing, The Beatles on iTunes and Children On Need on Friday - truly these are wonderful times to be a fuckwit. The rest of us must somehow struggle on.
I haven't found anything to write about in today's papers yet, so here's a photo I like of Chris Colfer from the new Out 100; the US magazine's annual list of the top 100 gaylebrities who they wanted to take photos of who returned their calls.
Enjoy!
• The photograph above is part of a Stonewall riots themed session. Mr Colfer's own views on Judy Garland are not known.
