Fagburn has lost count of how many times The Guardian has illustrated a gay-related story with this crappy, hackneyed image this year, but this is the third time in 10 days.

Dear Guardian Reader's Office,

You have used this photo to illustrate gay-related stories at least a zillion times this year, already.

The rainbow flag is a patronising cliche, that - politically - many gay men find objectionable.

Having two gay men being shown in silhouette is shaming and implies we are not out, thus - ironically - closeting gay men.

We have faces, you know?

Perhaps you could get onto StockPhoto and ask if they have any other photos of The Gays?
