Bob Crow: 1961-2014

'What do you want me to do, sit under a tree and read books of Karl Marx every day?'

Another working-class hero - hounded to death.

'The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways: the point, however, is to change it.'

The former 'firebrand' will now be referred to as 'colourful'.

Communism... fuck yeah!

  1. One of the greatest union leaders of all time and a great friend and supporter of gay rights at work. He will be very sadly missed.

  2. Boris trying to exploit his death by claiming that their common interest was improving the tube was nauseating. Boris didn't give him the time of day when he was alive. This no doubt is just the start of hypocrisy from newspapers, politicians and others who vilified him. He was one of the few true friends of the working class and today is a very sad day.

  4. Well, he was a working-class hero, he was endlessly hounded, and now he's dead. I don't think it's such a hysterical claim to see any cause and effect going on there.

  5. I admire him too but it's stretching it a bit to say he was hounded to death - he had no problem standing up for himself and his death is just one of those unfortunate things. He showed that unions are still important whatever the Tories and spineless New Labour say.

  6. hardly a working class hero with a £145, 000 salary! Sure he lived in a council house, but only because he wouldn't give it up for a more needy family. Champagne socialist choc full of hypocrisy
