The Guardian: Gay Violence

Jake Wallis Simons writes for The Guardian about "a shocking rise in homophobia on the streets of London" - for which there is no evidence.
In fact Simons acknowledges; "homophobic crime overall dropped by 3% in London last year."
His starting point is the terrible attack on Philip Sallon last month - though it is not clear if this was a homophobic attack.
Simons quotes Boy George - who was sentenced to 15 months in jail in 2009 for handcuffing a gay man to a wall and beating him with a metal chain.
The article also quotes Paul Shetler - here's a video of Shetler threatening someone he'll "Pound your fucking face in" at the recent gay kiss-in in Soho.
The Guardian piece is titled; "There's so much hatred out there".
Who said irony was dead?
