Strictly: Come Now

STRICTLY COME DANCING legend James Jordan has slammed judge Craig Revel Horwood for championing same-sex couples on the show.

James – who performed on Strictly with his wife and fellow pro dancer Ola from 2006 to 2013 – is horrified by the idea of having two men ballroom-dancing together.

He accused Craig of only suggesting it because he is gay – and fears the BBC hit see its ratings slide if it goes down that route. James told TV Biz: “It’s wrong. I think they would lose so many viewers.

“I have nothing against same-sex couples, if they want to go and do their own competitions.

“But ballroom and Latin dancing is about a man dancing with a woman – that’s fact.

“I put it on Twitter that I don’t agree and people called me homophobic. But I’m not, I have lots of gay friends. Why must we change everything because it’s PC?

“It annoys me that people like Craig can say this because he’s gay. That’s the only reason he’s pushing it.” ...

The Sun - so his words may have been mangled.

Fair point, though.

It's like saying you should be allowed to ride a cow at the Grand National - that's fact.

  1. No, riding a cow in the National is like saying two chimpanzees should be allowed to dance in Strictly. It's a whole different species. The more accurate parallel is saying that women should be ale to ride horses in the National, because until the 70s the convention was men only.

Up and down the land, you will find women dancing together in ballrooms, because well, dancing is a bit poofy isn't it, so fewer men participate. What next Fagburn? Endorsing snatching dolls out of the hands of 3 year old boys, because they should be playing with toy guns?

Perhaps you are also not aware that James Jordon is a regular on talk show the Wright Stuff, where his right wing views are sometimes hilarious, such as when he advocated that the UK should declare war on Russia over its activities in the Ukraine.
