Days since the last prominent homophobe was caught in a gay sex scandal:

I think it's a bit daft to try and maintain an argument that all homophobes are secretly gay - some people just hate queers - but anyway I like this.
Shouldn't we feel sorry for these people?
Yes, homophobia stinks, but they're victims, too.

Agreed.
ReplyDeleteThere's a sort of sense that trying to raise the context of their homophobia is somehow excusing it.
People will say "Well, I went through what they did and I never ended up like that" - I'm starting to loathe that tendency to generalise about everyone in a group more and more.
They're still cunts, of course, but they weren't born cunts... every child is an angel awww... or every child is a cunt but some become civilised... same difference...
No idea. Anyone?
ReplyDeleteIt's not about excusing it, it's about highlighting the root cause of this self-loathing and homophobia.

ReplyDeleteskip to 26/27 minutes to hear the tragic outing story of one of these closet cases...
FWIW, I don't believe or state that homophobes are significantly more likely to be gay. But TTBOMK it's true that closet cases are more likely to act homophobically as a defense mechanism.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, I think that people shouldn't support anti-gay legislation especially when they themselves are queer; in addition to being morally wrong, it's just hypocritical.
And on the Internet, hypocrisy = lulz. Ergo my site. :-)
I don't list mere closet cases though; there are lots of those that I've rejected from listing. I agree, that's just sad. I'm only interested in exposing anti-gay-rights hypocrisy.
