The fact that this is even getting column inches and coverage on TV shows that we still have a long way to go. If the issue was race then no one would touch it, except to say how obviously wrong it is for someone who offers a public service to discriminate in this way - no matter how sincerely their racist beliefs are held. It's unbelievable that we're still arguing in 2011 if homophobia is acceptable in certain circumstances.
