A mum (dads not recommended)
An image file of the banner design
A piece of material (we used calico; it holds paint well and doesn’t stretch)
Soft pencils
Gaffer tape
Masking tape
A projector
Quite a bit of space
A wall
Primer
Acrylic paint (we bought Pip Seymour paint from eBay)
Various firm brushes (acrylic paint is gloopy, not runny)
Several days...

Queer Friends Of Bradley Manning: Statement

Bradley epitomises what every good queer should be: someone who sees injustice and doesn’t sit quietly on their behind waiting for someone else to make things better; someone who, against all odds, stands up and fights for the well being of others without concern for their own personal safety.
Where would the queer community be without people like Bradley? Where would San Francisco Pride be without people like Bradley? Indeed, where would Lisa Williams and her board be without people like Bradley?
When Lisa Williams said the board’s decision was ‘an error’, she was wrong. The decision to rescind Bradley’s place as honorary grand marshal was an insult, an insult to the queer community Bradley supported, an insult to Americans, the essence of which he epitomises absolutely; and finally, to Bradley himself, a modern day queer American hero who tried as best he could to try to make our pale blue dot a slightly nicer place on which to live knowing full well he faced a life in prison or possibly death...

Bradley's trial begins on Monday June 3rd.
As well as various actions in the US, there will be a protest outside the US Embassy in London on Saturday June 1st.

Bradley Manning: Waiting

Bradley Manning has yet another hearing starting Monday July 16th.
This is expected to set the date for his court martial - which unbelievably may now not take place until next year.
It's just one part of a whole cavalcade of nonsense still unresolved.
And they're "treating him worse than a terrorist".

UK Friends Of Bradley Manning are now holding weekly meetings in London, every Thursday at 7pm.
Princess Louise, Upstairs, near Front Windows area, 208 High Holborn, WC1V 7BW.
Nearest tube Holborn.
And don't forget Queer Friends Of Bradley Manning are organising a walking group in support of Bradley at Pride London on July 2nd. Please let them know if you want to be involved, or want to help making a banner this Sunday.
Other events are being planned - hopefully there will be something at Brighton Pride Parade on Saturday August 13th.
