Discrimination: Gesture Politics

'Tim' mimics a 'gay' gesture for a BBC News item.
A gay man has been awarded £7,500 in a landmark case after a member of shop staff made homophobic gestures at him.

Southend County Court heard the man had been subjected to months of gesturing by a staff member at Taylor Edwards locksmith in Shoeburyness.

The man, named only as "Tim", brought an action against the shop and won.

It is thought to be the first time a business has been ordered to pay damages for discrimination that was entirely "non-verbal".

Solicitors from Unity Law said the victim had first been abused when he went to ask for a refund on some locks.

Peter Edwards - it's always the pretty ones.
When Tim left the shop, the man serving him - Peter Edwards - blew a sarcastic kiss at him.

This was followed by about 20 similar mocking gestures when Tim was passing the shop and Mr Edwards was on a cigarette break, Unity Law said.

Tim went on to bring an action against Taylor Edwards, alleging discrimination under the Equality Act, which prevents anyone supplying goods or services from discriminating against customers on a variety of grounds, including race, religion, disability and sexual orientation...

BBC News.

Have to say Fagburn is conflicted over this.

Part of me thinks the fine is a tad excessive, and Mr Edwards should be personally liable.

Part of me thinks 'Tim' should have manned up and smashed the twat's fugly fucking face into the lathe.

Is being a persistently annoying bigoted twat enshrined as 'freedom of speech'?

But mainly I'm just going HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

PS Why not call Taylor Edwards on 01702 297480 and ask to speak to Peter?

That's if the cunt hasn't been sacked yet.

Housing: Flat Out Nonsense

'Gay flatmate wanted' ads break equality laws
The Telegraph.

Interesting that this is blowing up - and the inflection given it here.
It's nicked off a BBC News story from earlier today -  'Flat adverts that may be breaking the law: "To let" advertisements that specify a particular race or religion are visible in newsagents windows in many areas of London. But are they breaking the law?' - that only mentions THE GAYS in passing.
It is of course nonsensical, despite the Equality Act (2010) - endlessly cited in these articles - people are still at liberty to choose who they want to live with.
And quite right, too.
Why flatshare with a fascist when you can firebomb them?

Richard Littlejohn: The Edited Column

Two snapshots of modern, multicultural Britain. In Wakefield, an electrician is threatened with the sack for displaying a palm cross in his van. A couple of hundred miles south, in Tower Hamlets, a pharmacy assistant is threatened with death unless she wears a Muslim headscarf.
Both are extreme examples of ‘diversity’ in action... equality nazis.
Remember the British Airways worker... a modest crucifix... hijab... Islamic faith.
Hoteliers, foster parents, teachers and a devout Christian registrar have all had their lives ruined in the name of ‘tolerance’... latest in a catalogue of Christians singled out for persecution... overgrown Wolfie Smith wannabe... blood-stained revolutionary Che Guevara... environmental manager, whatever that is.
heinous ‘crime’... equality and diversity manager... Stalinist zeal.
Except, of course, Christianity... no problem if an employee wanted to wear a burka to work.
'The Equality Act 2010.’ Harriet Harman’s grotesque piece of social engineering... forces organisations to carry out ‘equality impact assessments’ on everything from staffing ratios to the effect of spending cuts on minorities.
embraced messianically throughout the land by the vast apparatus of ‘diversity’ enforcers... a never-ending political crusade.
‘diversity days’... Leeds Gypsy and Traveller Group... invited the imam from the Wakefield Central Mosque to address staff.
Why should taxpayers be expected to indulge his political prejudices?
‘Diversity manager’... outrageous persecution... professional agitators drawn from the ranks of the Guardianistas... want to stamp out Christianity in Britain... self-righteous, guilt-ridden white Leftists and hard-line Islamists.
mad mullahs... Militant Muslims... establish a sharia state in East London... cheered on by Leftists... toxic mix of Islamist fanaticism and revolutionary socialism.
And in the name of ‘diversity’ the Left cheerfully overlook rabid hatred of homosexuals and the subjugation of women by Islamists.
31-year-old Asian shop assistant is now in fear of her life... visited by extremists...
The Tower Hamlets Taliban... the pernicious, officially-sanctioned cult of multiculturalism.
Mustn’t upset the community...
symptoms of a much wider malignant disease.
This week it is an electrician from Wakefield and a shop assistant. Who will be next to be sacrificed on the altar of ‘diversity’?

Newsflash: Humour Outlawed!

This news item on The Equality Act becoming law in The Daily Express - 'Harman's Equality Act Outlaws Humour' - is so outrageously mendacious Fagburn doesn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"THE death knell has sounded for the risque joke after new equality laws, masterminded by Labour deputy leader Harriet Harman, heralded a new era of political correctness yesterday..."
The Daily Mail - predictably - were in complete agreement; 'Death of the office joke: Coalition enacts Harriet's PC equality law which means ANYBODY can sue for ANYTHING that offends them.'
In The Daily Telegraph, young fogey Ed West calls it; 'The Triumph of Identity Politics and Possibly The Worst Law In English History.'
Only "possibly"?
Meanwhile The Sun reports a sign of the humourless loony lefty fascist state to come; 'Anger At Paul's Gay Craig Joke'.
"MAGICIAN Paul Daniels was last night accused of making a homophobic joke on Strictly.
"He quipped about gay judge Craig Revel Horwood's sausage ads on the opening show of the new series of Strictly.
"But the humour was seen as anti-gay by some viewers. Daniels and dance partner Ola Jordan received just two out of ten from the Australian judge.
"Paul then joked: "Don't give up your day job tasting sausages."
Doesn't look like The Sun could find anyone who actually thought this remark was homophobic - or even thought it was intended to refer to Horwood's sexuality, as opposed to his sausage ads.
Now that's magic!

Fostering: Ban The Daily Mail!

"A former vicar and his wife have been barred from becoming foster parents after saying they did not want gay couples who are considering adopting to meet them in their own home," reports a mortified Daily Mail.
"John and Colette Yallop told the local council that, if approved as foster parents, they would be ready to help same-sex couples adopt children and would be happy for a gay person to visit on their own.
"But they said they would rather meet such couples at a children’s centre than in their family home to avoid awkward questions from their own young son and daughter."
Fagburn hopes that this bigoted nutcase does not allow The Daily Mail into his home, it runs a story mentioning a "gay couple" or "gay couples" on average about twice a week, which must cause rather a lot of awkward questions from their young son and daughter.

Section 28: Goodbye To All That

Shocking news! A Scottish Tory candidate has been suspended from the party after he described homosexuality as not normal.
Philip Lardner, who was standing in North Ayrshire and North Arran, made the comment on his website. He wrote; "I will always support the rights of homosexuals to be treated within concepts of (common-sense) equality and respect, and defend their rights to choose to live the way they want in private, but I will not accept that their behaviour is 'normal' or encourage children to indulge in it."
Lardner called for the repeal of anti-discrimination legislation; "Christians (and most of the population) believe homosexuality to be somewhere between 'unfortunate' and simply 'wrong' and they should not be penalised for politely saying so – good manners count too, of course. The current 'law' is wrong and must be overturned in the interests of freedom as well as Christian values."
He also called for the return of Section 28; "I will not accept that their behaviour is 'normal' or encourage children to indulge in it... Toleration and understanding is one thing, but state-promotion of homosexuality is quite another."
Andrew Fulton, chair of the Scottish Conservatives, confirmed Lardner’s party membership had been suspended; “These views have no place in the modern Conservative party.”
But if Conservative candidates are to be expelled for supporting Section 28, then I guess they'll have to kick out Cameron and find a new party leader.
Conservative MPs who voted against the 2007 Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations Act outnumbered those who voted for it by three to one.
And lest we forget, so did 10 Labour MPs (Joe Benton, Tom Clarke, Frank Cook, Jim Dobbin, David Drew, Peter Kilfoyle, James McGovern, Alan Meale, Geraldine Smith and David Taylor), and four Liberal Democrats (Alan Beith, Colin Breed, Tim Farron and Bob Russell).
Will the last MP deselected please etc etc etc...
