Whitsun: 50 Years On (Not 40 As Some Drunken Simpletons Have Suggested)

Brighton, May 18th 1964.
In 1971, the government abolished the Whitsun Bank Holiday, cause everyone was having too much fun.

  2. There was a rumour that big mods'n'rockers action was going to spill over into Luton and, as a cub reporter of The Luton News, I wandered around the town centre with my girl-friend (I wince) after coming out of the pictures, to see if any rioting was going on but it wasn't.
