    Let me enlighten you, since I watched half an episode once. Ben, who'd being going through a straight phase with a blonde girlfriend, was inevitably drawn to Paul, the first out gay man he saw and fell in love with him. No sooner had Ben remembered he was gay and declared his undying love, than the two of them are the victims of a homophobic attack and Paul dies.

    It's the usual BBC homophobic horseshit where gay characters have to be tormented by their sexuality. If not, they snuff it pretty sharpish, as God (and the BBC) hates a happy homosexual.
