Amidst the celebrations over the winner of X Factor, please spare a thought for last year's winner, Joe McElderry.His latest single - cruelly titled Someone Wake Me Up - has entered the charts at number 68 - without, as they say, a bullet.
Tragically little Joe's career trajectory was not that of evergreen gayer Will Young, but has gone the way of that other smiley puppy, Gareth Gates.
Maybe if Joe had stayed in the closet people would still be talking about him?
