Daily Telegraph: Sir

SIR – To paint the Mona Lisa required Leonardo and his subject, Lisa Gherardini. If his studio had held two artists, or two Lisas, the crowd in the Louvre would have a blank wall to look at. Marriage is about a couple complementing each other in every way, not just in mutual satisfaction. It exists that we might be fruitful.

As a lifelong scientist, I fail to see how gay marriage can ever fulfil its name. Even in an age that widely wants to believe the opposite, I am evidently far from alone. I never will be; and science, like common sense, operates by logic, not prejudice.

Slow News Day: Mona Lisa

You can tell it's a very slow news day, because everyone from The Daily Telegraph to The Daily Mail has gone big with this tired old twaddle;
'Mona Geezer: Was da Vinci's young male apprentice the model for that famous enigmatic smile?'
"An art historian claims the model in Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece was one of his male muses, a young man called Gian Giacomo Caprotti, whose nose and mouth bear striking similarities to those of Mona Lisa..."
Snore!
You may recall the equally silly Michelangelo's Last Judgement/gay sauna story from last year.
At least the Telegraph was honest enough to point out that the Mona Lisa has been subject to countless other fruitloop claims about who the model was and conspiracy theories in the past...
