Ukip: The Second Time As...

UKIP descended into farce last night after the party suspended its former Deputy Chair for six months - for slamming a colleague who once compared gays to Nazis.

Suzanne Evans – who helped write the 2015 Election Manifesto – was dumped yesterday in the latest twist to a vicious civil war blazing in the right-wing group.

UKIP said she had been suspended for “publicly criticising a fellow candidate”.

She last month criticised Alan Craig – a candidate for the London Assembly – for advocating ‘gay cure’ therapy.

But insiders said it appeared she was paying the price for daring to challenge UKIP chief Nigel Farage.

Ms Evans – who went to the High Court yesterday in an attempt to challenge the suspension – is a supporter of Vote Leave.

She added: “I will look to take up whatever right of appeal is open to me.” ...

The Sun.

Of course, if you're in the Conservative Party and believe in 'gay cure' therapy, they make you Work And Pensions Secretary.

Matthew Parris Watch: Bully Boys

On Tuesday some Christian nutjob called Alan Craig equated being in favour of gay and straight equality with being a Nazi.
Today, with a wonderful sense of comic timing, The Times' inhouse homo Matthew Parris claims that gay men who stand up for their rights are bullies.*
From Nazis to bullies in 48 hours.
Dat's progress!

• Cartoon showing two typical Nazi bullyboy gayers from The Daily Mail.

* "This kind of reverse persecution is an embarrassment to those of us who want to end persecution. Gay rights campaigners have made astonishing progress in recent years — to the point when we need to remind ourselves that other people have rights too, and that we campaign against bullying, not for it."
Oh do piss off, Matthew...

The Church Of England Newspaper: Confronting The Gaystapo

"Having forcibly – and understandably – rectified the Versailles-type injustices and humiliations foisted on the homosexual community, the UK’s victorious Gaystapo are now on a roll. Their gay-rights storm troopers take no prisoners as they annex our wider culture, and hotel owners, registrars , magistrates, doctors, counsellors, foster parents, grandparents, adoption agencies, and traditional street preachers find themselves crushed under the pink jack-boot.
"Thnks especially to the green light from a permissive New Labour government, the gay Wehrmacht is on its long march through the institutions and has already occupied the Sudetenland social uplands of the Home Office, the educational establishment, the politically-correct police, and the Guardianista management of the BBC. Following a plethora of equalities legislation, homosexuals are now protected and privileged by sexual orientation regulations and have achieved legal equality by way of civil partnerships.
"But it’s only 1938 and Nazi expansionist ambitions are far from sated..."

Alan Craig, writing in The Church Of England Newspaper.
You can only read the article in full on Alan Craig's blog.
This is currently sending Twitter into meltdown - but with many RTs claiming it's from Church Times.
"The CofE Newspaper" is a very different kettle of loaves and fish, known for its reactionary evangelical line.
Even so, did no-one at this holy organ think this comparison might be ever so slightly offensive offensive?
Unless The Gays really do have a secret plan to conquer Europe and put all the Christians in death camps.
The author Alan Craig is leader of Christian Peoples' Alliance - a loopy one-man band that's basically him and a few of his nutty mates masquerading as a political party.
Unlike most anti-gy evangelical Christian groups which are aligned with the political right, CPA claim their values and principles include concern for peace and social justice.
Unfortunately, all they ever seem to really get angry about are The Gays and The Muslims.

Update: The paper defend publishing the article saying Mr Craig has "pertinent views".
Pertinent to what, please?
