World Press Photo Of The Year Award: Russia BOO!

A photograph of two gay lovers in St. Petersburg has won the World Press Photo of the Year award.

The photo by Danish Photographer Mads Nissen, beat nearly 100,000 other entries from press photographers and photojournalists worldwide.

Speaking to BBC World News, Lars Boering, the managing director of World Press Photo, said that the picture had been chosen because it highlighted "an important issue for the whole world."

Words fail me.

So thank fuck there's a photo.

There are still a few more stories to write about, but they need me to not be so knackered I have trouble remembering my name, and have started to hallucinate.
