Chelsea Manning is an "ungrateful traitor" who "should never have been released from prison", President Donald Trump has said on Twitter.
Manning, who was convicted of leaking documents to Wikileaks in 2010, recently had her sentence commuted by former President Barack Obama.
The transgender US Army private, born Bradley Manning, said in an op-ed that Mr Obama's legacy was not bold enough.
Mr Trump took to Twitter to criticise her for calling Mr Obama a weak leader.
"Ungrateful TRAITOR Chelsea Manning, who should never have been released from prison, is now calling President Obama a weak leader. Terrible!" he tweeted...
BBC News.
LOL!
Here's the article by the ungrateful TRAITOR.
PS Trump can't overturn her commutation, so don't have nightmares.

Cuba: Behind You
And so began phase two of Obama's masterplan to hand Cuba back to the Mob, and return it to its rightful place as America's whorehouse.
This will not end well, you mark my words...

Television: Making Gay The New Normal?
Shows with gay characters, like Glee, Modern Family,
and The New Normal, are helping drive voters to historically
unprecedented support of gay marriage, an Oct. 29 THR poll
conducted in conjunction with partner Penn Schoen Berland has found.
Though gay TV also makes some voters more intensely opposed to gay
marriage, they are outnumbered by voters who become more supportive of
gay marriage, influenced by what they see on TV...
In the past 10 years, the THR poll of likely voters across the nation found, about three times as many voters have become more pro-gay marriage as have become more anti-gay marriage -- 31 percent pro, 10 percent anti.
Asked about how the shows influenced them, 27 percent said gay TV made them more pro-gay marriage, and six percent more anti. Obama voters watched and 30 percent got more supportive, 2 percent less supportive. Surprisingly, the shows made almost as many Romney voters more in favor of gay marriage: 13 percent got more pro-gay-marriage, 12 percent got more anti. (This trend toward gay acceptance squares with other polls: the 2011 Gallup poll was the first ever to show a majority, 53 percent, in favor of legalizing gay marriage...)
Obama voters are twice as likely to watch Modern Family as Romney voters are, twice as likely to watch Glee, and three times more likely to watch The New Normal... *
Hollywood Reporter.
Interesting, but reductive as it implies television is the main driver behind changes in social attitudes.
Turn tellybox on, watch tellybox, mind changed, problem solved...
Of course popular culture matters - I don't think I'd bother writing about it if I didn't think it did.
But what happens in the cultural, political and social spheres all interact and overlap, and it's surely the latter - our interactions with real people - that has really transformed our world.
Mind you, what kind of a freak wants to be "normal"?
• So maybe Catholic Online et al are onto something with their 'Fightback against gay TV in your home'?
* This contradicts the oft-quoted line that Republicans are more likely to watch Modern Family. Thus scientifically proving that at least 50% of surveys about The Gays must be bollocks.

John Pilger: Obama, Gay Marriage & Manning
Never forget that Bradley Manning, and not gay marriage, is the issue
Barack Obama’s sudden “conversion” to the cause of same-sex marriage barely disguises the prime motives of a president as reactionary and violent as George W Bush.
'In the week Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, he ordered bombing attacks on Yemen, killing a reported 63 people, 28 of them children. When recently Obama announced that he supported same-sex marriage, Nato planes had not long blown 14 Afghan civilians to bits. In both cases, the mass murder was barely news. What mattered were the cynical vacuities of a political celebrity, the product of a zeitgeist driven by the forces of consumerism and the media, with the aim of diverting the struggle for social and economic justice.
'The award of the Nobel Prize to the first black American president because he “offered hope” was both absurd and an authentic expression of the lifestyle liberalism that controls much political debate in the west. Same-sex marriage is one such distraction. No “issue” diverts attention as successfully as this: not the free vote in parliament on lowering the age of gay consent promoted by that noted libertarian and war criminal, Tony Blair; not the cracks in “glass ceilings” that contribute nothing to women’s liberation and merely amplify the demands of bourgeois privilege.
'Legal obstacles should not prevent people from marrying each other, regardless of gender. However, this is a civil and private matter; bourgeois acceptability is not yet a human right. The rights historically associated with marriage are those of property – capitalism itself. Elevating the “right” to marriage above the right to life and justice is as profane as seeking allies among those who deny life and justice to so many, from Afghanistan to Palestine...'

Libération: Oui
Non-French speakers this means; "They have said yes!"
The Daily Mail says this cover shows them getting married.
Hello!?
Et ici est Simon Hoggart dans Le Guardian;
"Gay marriage is responsible for so much. Back in 2007, when we last had serious floods, some bonkers bishop in the north said they were God's punishment. Rightwing Tory MPs have blamed the party's failures in local elections on gay marriage and Lords reform, as if voters were saying, "Hmm, my children are out of work, and I could be made redundant any day, but that's nothing compared with Cameron's assault on marriage as a sacrament between a man and a woman!""

Breaking: Man Says "Gay"
A man said the word "gay" last night.
The man, 50, was talking to some other people in Washington DC.
"He definitely said it," local man, Buzz Cola, told Fagburn. "Right after a very long list of other words used to describe people."
More when we get it...
