ReplyDeleteAlas, some people did. When I tried to start a GaySoc at Glasgow Uni in the 1975, the Uni Senate wouldn't countenance it on the grounds that Glasgow Uni couldn't countenance an organization that promoted illegal activities. I still have the correspondence.
