Bruce Springsteen: Broooce!

Famous for his pumped-up physique and the bandana he wore during the 1980s, Springsteen explains that he took up bodybuilding partly to impress his father. “Bulging muscles . . . and the lifting of thousands of pounds [of weights] . . . finally brought my father the physical presence he’d been looking for,” he says. But looking back at photographs of himself during that era, he now says he looks “gay”.
