Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia - known by his nickname "Vlad The Impaler" - has become the latest politician to come out for equal marriage.
The popular, though somewhat eccentric, figure told a packed meeting at the Romanian Impalers conference; "Yes, I support this gay marriage thingy. Now let me get back to impaling peasants and drinking their blood."
Leading gay commentator Patrick Smugtwit said; "This is brilliant news! I was at St Cake's with Vlad and always knew he was a jolly good egg."
Peter Lobotomy from Gay Pink Star Paper News added; "Never mind the impaling - Vlad supports gay marriage. Yay!"
Update: Tragically, soon after this was posted Peter Lobotomy was impaled.

Incidentally, I don't buy this 'there's more important things to think about than gay marriage' argument. It's something that can be done quickly and with minimal cost, and it's the just thing to do, so quit all the gab and do it.
Besides, if, as the Christians say, society will fall apart, there's little point in saving the economy anyway.
